Ever had a profile suspended for something that had nothing to do with the listing?

A lot of the suspension threads here start with something that really was wrong with the listing.

I'm more curious about the other kind, where the profile looked fine and got suspended anyway.

Was it right after a small edit, like new hours or a category change, or had nothing changed at all?

And did you ever find out the actual reason, or did it just come back one day?

i see cases where a profile gets suspended even when nothing obvious was wrong with the listing sometimes a small edit seems to trigger another check but its not always clear what caused it and getting a proper reason from support can pretty difficult

The small edit thing is what I keep hearing too. Hours, a category, a new phone number, and then its gone.

Support never seems to say which one did it.

Have you had one come back after an appeal? Did you change anything on the listing first or appeal it as it was?

I found that edits to Business Name & Categories is usually what would trigger a review with Google and usually a suspension. Usually, I would be able to get away with a few changes to things like hours, description, etc if all the edits were done at the same time instead of multiple edits over time.

Quite a lot of random GBP suspensions are triggered by background algorithm sweeps mate. changing primary categories or updating phone numbers are classic trigger for instant re-verification looops. and yea, Google almost never gives u the explicit reason why it happened in the first place -_-

I’ve seen cases where Google Business Profiles get suspended after minor edits or even without any obvious changes. Sometimes it seems related to automated verification checks, but the exact reason isn’t always clear. Has anyone managed to get a clear explanation from Google support and successfully reinstate their profile?
