How to find a low competition blogging niche in 2026?

Hi guys, I want to start a new blog but I am confused about picking a niche. Everything seems very competitive now. What tools or methods are you using to find low competition niches with good search volume?
another approach would be looking into niche communities nd finding out which issues recur. this could provide insight on the things that may not be suggestted by the keyword tools. after that, u should take a look at the results of the search to make sure that the existing articles do a good job of answering these questions.

for me i focusd on long tail keywords. this is the best way for approaching ans starting with SEMrush or AHRefs for Low competition keywords.

Look for specific sub-topics inside rising local trends or new hobby products using google trends and low DR sites ranking on page one, then cross check keyword difficulty manually instead of trusting tool metrics blindly.

Choosing a less competitive niche may mean lower earnings. I think you should invest your time and effort in a competitive niche if you want to earn a good income.

You can use Google trends and Ahrefs to find blog niche and after the you can check Google results manually if small website are ranking with weak content then the niche may be worth trying.

Use keyword tools for ideas, then check the top results yourself. Sometimes a keyword with a high difficulty score is still worth targeting.
Sure, KD is only an estimation, and not a conclusive factor. I make sure to look at the real SERP first since poor content and small websites ranking on page one mean a great chance.

Browse forums in different industries and note the problems people ask about repeatedly. Those can turn into focused blog topics.

Try focusing on specific long-tail keywords rather than broad niches. Google autocomplete, Reddit, and low-competition keyword filters in Ahrefs or Semrush can help you spot underserved topics with real search demand.

Use Ahrefs, Google Trends, and low-competition long-tail keywords, validate demand before choosing your niche.

I always come across interesting angles throiugh looking at some dull topics that many people have been asking about repeateidly on forum sites to see whether these tail keywords attract buyers or not.

Try Ahrefs’ free keyword generator for volume estimates and Google Trends for seasonality. Then manually check search results for related questions that existing pages answer poorly.

For ideas, I use Google suggestions. Then check search volume and competition with a keyword tool. Also I look for topics where smaller blogs are ranking.

Whatever niche you choose, it’s already occupied by more successful bloggers. The first thing you need to do is figure out what you can offer that will interest viewers. After that, you can look into collaborations, advertising, and so on.

I’d start with a specific sub-niche and use Google autocomplete, Reddit, and keyword tools like Ahrefs or Semrush to find underserved questions. Look for topics with clear search intent and realistic competition, then validate demand before building the blog around them.

Just pick a subject that you’ve got personal experience with, it’ll make it much easier to create content to kick off with. Going with whatever generates traffic will leave you choosing high comp niches.

Focus on micro-niches and long-tail keywords. Use Ahrefs or Semrush to check search volume and competition, and explore forums like Reddit to find untapped topics.
