Hi guys, I want to start a new blog but I am confused about picking a niche. Everything seems very competitive now. What tools or methods are you using to find low competition niches with good search volume?

tbh I will go for long tail keyword for the niche where competition is not as tough. Using semrush or ahrefs, we will find the gap, but even when KD is low, it does not always mean that we will rank higher for certain keyword.

My approach would be to begin with a smaller sub niche and to verify the search engine result pages before relying on the keyword difficculty score. You can look for long-tail phrases that get ranked by forums, low-quality websites, or old articles.

If I were starting a blog, I’d pick a small niche and focus on long-tail keywords first. I’d also check Google to see if smaller websites are already ranking for those keywords. Competing with big sites right away sounds tough .

A good way is to find small topics that people search for on Google but that most websites don’t answer correctly. Find questions, not keywords, and go to Reddit and Facebook groups related to your interests. Find questions that people are asking over and over again but that don’t have good answers on Google, that’s your downfall. Use free tools like Google Keyword Planner. It’s better to choose a specific topic and create useful content on it rather than chasing high search volume.

Forget broad niche tools find topics where reddit or old forum posts are ranking in top 3 spots then build tight programmatic clusters around those exact long tail queries.

One trick is checking reddit threads where people keep asking the same questions but google has barely any decent articles answering them

if forums are ranking in the top five that's worth digging into

I think the best way is to focus on specific sub niches instead of broad topics and check keyword difficulty along with search volume and search intent before choosing a niche

to be honest, I would not use KD alone, but what I would do is use google and see if only the large websites are ranking or small websites as well. the long tail keywords will be a gud place to start because you are offering some additional value.

Yes I agree focusing on long tail keywords is the best way to approach the subject.

I still start with Ahrefs and filter for lower KD keywords that still have decent volume. Also gid into Reddit, 4rum, group to see what people complain about. those pain points often turn into lower competition blog angles that still get traffic

As for me, use google trends, ahrefs, and Keyword Planner to find out target keywords, but also check with serp instead of trusting keyword difficulty alone. Smaller sites rank with focused content, so rather than narrow down niche and covers well than chase search volume alone.

Try looking at threads on auto complete and reddit with problems people keep asking about because they may expose some holes that large keyword tools do not see.

i would first start by selecting a general subject that u can actually understand nd then drill down into issues or topics where people have a search query.google autocomplete, related searches nd other small ranking websites may help in finding such niche. sometimes the niche may not require much search volume if the audience is really serrious about it.

Use Google Trends and keyword tools to find topics with decent search volume, then check the top results manually. If smaller websites are ranking, that’s usually worth exploring. Also, pick something you can consistently create helpful content about.

Yeah, ahrefs would be a nice place to start, but the search intent becomes apparent on the forums and Reddit. I would use those repeated complaints to write articles, and make sure to check the SERPs first.

If smaller sites are ranking with useful content, that’s a good opportunity to explore.

Stop trusting generic SaaS keyword tools and mine real pain points directly fro Reddit and Google Autocomplete, cuz by the time a tool labels a niche as "low competition," everyone and their mother is already spamming it

How about choosing a subject that you have actual expertise on, that way the content itself will be both easier to write and an easier read.

another approach would be looking into niche communities nd finding out which issues recur. this could provide insight on the things that may not be suggestted by the keyword tools. after that, u should take a look at the results of the search to make sure that the existing articles do a good job of answering these questions.
