Its positive for all three of them, but especially for quality backlinks and relevancy of content.

It is very important that the content corresponds to the search intent, while the backlinks should be relevant, coming from websites with traffic.

I agree, content needs to match what people are searching for.Backlinks should come from relevant websites with real traffic.Building more links doesn’t always mean better rankings.I’d focus on quality and relevance first.

Search intent comes first imo. if google is showing product pages and you're trying to rank a blog post, more backlinks probably won't save it. Once the page matches what's ranking, that's when relevant links can actually help push it up

Matched one page to the actual query last month and it finally moved. Mr.Dollar's order of intent first, coverage second feels exactly right to me. I'll stop chasing links first.

Absolutely agree. Matching search intent should come first.

Backlinks can strengthen a page, but if the content format doesn’t match what users are looking for, even strong links may not deliver the expected results. Relevance first, authority second.
 
I have seen pages rank better after improving content relevance even without building new backlinks.
 
All 3 play a vital role but competition stays afloat

Certainly. The closer the content is to search intent, the easier it is for Google to comprehend the content's relevance.

Backlinks work fine, but they won't make up for content that doesn't fit user intent.

Topical authority and high quality backlinks work the best if you want to get featured in AI.
 
I’d put search intent first, then look at topical relevance and backlinks together. If a page doesn’t answer what users are searching for, even strong backlinks may not help much. Relevant backlinks can support a useful page, but they work best when the content already meets the user’s needs.

I agree. Search intent and quality of content should come first.

Backlinks will help to boost the page but the content must be valuable and align with the search intent of the user.
 
Search intent and topical authority get you in the game, but backlinks are still the tie-breaker for competitive keywords.

If a page misses the search intent, even strong links will not keep it on page one for long. Once every site in the top 10 has solid topical coverage and matches the intent, relevant links from sites with real organic traffic are what actually push you into the top 3. You really need intent first, topical depth second, and authority links to finish the job.
 
Topical authority and hitting search intent will get you indexed and moving, but high authority contextual backlinks are still what pushes you to top 3 for competitive terms.

search intent is often overlooked bcz people tend to pay too much attention to links nd metrics. if it is not consistent with what users need, getting it rankked higher is quite challenging. do u agree that it has been becoming more evident lately due to google updates?
