How do you deal with TikTok videos getting copied?

The fact that your video is being copied indicates that it is highly effective and has the potential to trend; instead of focusing on the copying, I would create a series of additional content around that same topic to capitalize on the views generated by the popular video and enrich my account.

Copying a video is easy, but the comments section isn't. If you reply to people's posts and pin good comments, that's something the reuploader won't take with them. I'd only report the big ones and spend the rest of my time on that.

When your content is copied, there are two possible scenarios. if it is used for non-profit purposes, it is generally fine in fact, it can even help increase your visibility. However, if someone copies your content for personal gain, do not hesitate to report that account. Do not let such behavior go unchecked.

If someone's copying the idea, whatever
But if they're straight up reposting your video and getting views off it report it. Keeping your handle visible in the actual footage helps too since people can easily crop out a watermark

Wouldn't waste hours chasing every copy tho

If my video is copied, I will report it immediately. I call for a complete boycott; we cannot allow it to be stolen like this.

I'd focus on making the next video, unless someone is directly reposting my content and taking views from the original. In that case, I'd report the copies. You can't really stop people from copying an idea, so staying consistent matters more.

I think you should report the copied video and keep proof that the original video belongs to you, you can also add a watermark to make it harder for others to copy your content.

when a video does well similar versions often appear everywhere do you try to protect your original content or just focus on making the next video?
i would be concerned about how much harm has been caused by the reproduction of the video prior to deciding how much time i would invest in solving the issue.if people r simply reussing the video clip for their own personal gain, this is something completely different from other people getting inspired by the format.it takes up too much time checking out reproductions all the time.

id would add my watermark or tiktok username to the video so even if someone copies it, people can still see its my content and find my profile.

I would report copied videos if they are being reposted without permission Keeping the original files and upload dates can help when submitting a copyright complaint Some creators also add a small watermark to make their videos easier to identify

There is no official solution to it but there is a professional way for those who even do that by giving credit and add something unique by themselves as well.

when i posted my dance clip in March 2023, i noticed the same edit on another account within 48 hours, so i now embed a 5-second Kapwing watermark ($19/mo) and file a DMCA takedown via the TikTok Creator Portal, which usually removes the copy in under 24 hours

I will speak up regarding my images and content. If full credit is provided and the usage is non-profit, I will let it slide.

I’d focus on creating the next video while keeping an eye on reposts. Consistent original content matters, but protecting your work is important too.

If they aren't using your video to make money, then reporting it is pointless. You should focus on creating your next video instead.
