Would you rather get a backlink from a DR 70 website with low traffic or a DR 30 website with strong organic traffic? it is interestong to get to know your thoughts

tbh, I'll go for DR 30 if it comes with gud organic traffic nd relevant niche becuz DR does not tell anything; many I have seen with very high DR but still not gud at all. thus I will verify the traffic history and out-bound linking of that domain.

I might consider DR 30 more closely if there is legitimate organic traffic and if the website is relevant to my niche market DR 30 is not the complete picture in my opinion it is far more important for the website to be relevant and have traffic.

Definitely the DR site with strong organic traffic. I prefer real organic growth over just high DR.

Traffic beats dr every single time, a dr 30 site getting actual organic visitors will push way more real equity and rankings than a dead dr 70 link farm.

DR is a third-party metric, not a direct Google ranking factor. A DR 70 site with low traffic isn't necessarily bad, but I will check its backlinks quality, topical relevance, and whether the actual linking page has authority.

I would prioritize relevance, genuine organic visibility, page-level quality, and contextual placement over DR alone.
A lower-DR website that ranks well in my niche can be more valuable than a high-DR site with weak overall signals.

If there is something interesting on the DR 30 website and real organic visitors I would opt for it. however DR might help in comparative evaluation but it does not show the whole picture about the worth of the website.

I would normally pick DR 30 if the organic traffic is steady and the niche relevance is good DR is just one aspect to be considered so I would also take note of the traffic quality and the placement of the link would you make the same decision?

I choose the DR 30 site if it has genuine organic traffic and strong niche relevance. DR is just a metric; I care more about relevance, traffic quality, and the overall backlink profile.

thanks u all for replies! I will pay more attention to websites with real traffic. yeap, dr is just a metric by your replies and it is not the most vital one.

It's pretty easy to game DR, not as easy as it was for DA, but still not a difficult endeavour. However it looks like Ahrefs may be updating their algo for the metric - there's a v4 of DR that you can access via the API.

Dr 30 with real traffic any day assuming it's relevant to my niche

a dr 70 site getting barely any visitors is a bit of a red flag also worth checking where the traffic comes from

Going to try MorganX's relevance-first checklist on my next outreach list. I've been chasing high DR numbers and it clearly isn't cutting it. Hot_Box's traffic test is the part I'm adding tonight.

i would first see which keywords this DR 30 website is ranking for organic traffic from the same niche is better than DR 70 back links that just makes my report look pretty in my opinion.

as far as i m concerned, the website quality is more important for me than the DR figure. it is also necessary to veriffy whether there is some stability in traffic nd whether the targeted audience matches my niche. the point of the backlink must be clear beyond increasing DR.

I prefer the site topic to be trusted by Google rather than having a high DR. A small niche site might work better as a link than a high DR score.

Assuming the site's been around for some time, the one with more traffic

DR 30 w/ strong organic traffic every damn time, bc real traffic means Google actually trusts n ranks that site, while a DR 70 w/ no traffic is usually a pumped-up link farm or PBN, so DR is a vanity number n traffic is the proof :devil:

The whole thread has gone DR 30, so I will take the other side for a minute -> both numbers are domain level, and the link does not land on a domain.

A DR 70 with thin traffic is not automatically a link farm. Old regional papers, trade bodies and dead-ish industry directories stop publishing but keep links nobody can buy today. That is different from a pumped profile, and the way to tell them apart is to look at where the links came from, not at the traffic chart.

The DR 30 with real traffic has its own failure mode. The traffic belongs to four or five pages that rank. Your link goes on a brand new post with zero referring domains, nothing linking to it internally, and no path from anything that ranks. The site is alive, your page is not.

So before either, I check the page: has it got any links of its own, does anything on the site link to it, and has it ever ranked for anything itself. A quiet DR 70 with a well linked page beats a busy DR 30 with an orphan.
