I've been testing something for the past few months and the results have been too good not to share.
I work with local service businesses — plumbers, electricians, HVAC companies, painters, that kind of thing. And I've been running a specific combination that's been getting them into the top 3 of Google Maps consistently.
Here's what I've found works:
  1. Proper on-page SEO (title tags, schema, NAP consistency — the fundamentals done right)
  2. Local directory citations (I personally use EZLocal as my go-to)
  3. GEO fencing with mobile proxies
That third piece is the one that's been making the biggest difference. I'm not here to sell anything — I just want to share what's actually working in 2026 because I know a lot of people in this group are grinding to get their clients ranked.

Results I've seen so far across four different industries:
• SEO Company — ranked in top 3
• Painting Contractor — ranked in top 3
• AC Repair Company — ranked in top 3
• Electrical Contractor — ranked in top 3

Some of these took as little as 10 days. Others took about 30 days. It depends on the competition level and how solid the on-page foundation is before you start.
Total revenue generated for my clients using this approach: $96,900.

That's real money going into real local businesses' pockets.
The takeaway? If your on-page is dialed in and your citations are clean, adding geo fencing with mobile proxies on top of that creates a combination that Google Maps seems to respond to very well. The sky really is the limit when all three pieces are working together.

Happy to answer questions if anyone wants to talk through the process. Again — not selling anything here. Just sharing what's been working on my end.

Could you elaborate on the use of GEO fencing with mobile proxies?

geo fencing basically just means the searches come from inside the area google expects real customers to be in, so if the GMB is in dallas the clicks need to look like they come from phones around dallas, not a datacenter in germany. mobile proxies help because they use real carrier IPs that rotate, so it looks like normal phone traffic. the IP alone isnt enough tho, the device GPS, timezone and language need to match too or it looks off. and dont skip the behaviour part, search the keyword, scroll a bit, click the listing, check photos or directions, and keep the volume believable for the niche. a sudden spike from zero is how people get burned
