How are you building links for large-scale SEO sites?

Hey guys,
For those running sites with a lot of pages, how are you handling backlinks? Do you focus links on the main domain, build links to specific pages, or just keep the link building more natural? Would like to hear what’s actually working for you.
Root page, hub pages, author pages - these 3 prongs should give you enough juice to get the spiders doing the rounds. But how you build your site affects a lot of this - ideally you want every page on your site to be accessible within 3 clicks of the home page, so how you structure your hubs is important.

Actually various types of backlink is most effective for ranking website. Have to build niche relevant Guest post and quality full link creat. And always try to analysed Off page SEO and fix a little issue.

target the primary category hubs with strong links and then allows intelligent internal linking to funnel the link value to the rest. other wise uhh will be broke manually pitching.
This is far more scalable than trying to get links to each page separately. Good category hubs along with proper internal link-building will help to distribute the authority throughout the site.

A balanced strategy works best in my experience: earn domain-level mentions, support key landing pages, and strengthen internal linking. Every backlink should have a clear purpose.

I focus on both the main domain and key pages that need ranking support.

The priority is relevance, link quality, and a natural link profile rather than building links just for the sake of volume.

Based on the client sites we worked with, for big sites, the main domain and specific product or service pages would be the main focus. Apart from that, we keep building links to other relevant pages to keep the link juice natural. Also, the website has very strong internal linking and great onpage optimizations, so most of the pages are interlinked, and building one can easily power up the others.

hubs not pages mate. on the big sites i run the money pages get maybe 5 real links each in a year and thats it. the volume goes to the category hubs and to buffer sites << web 2.0s and a couple of emds with real content linking into the hubs. gsa tier 2 off a verified list hits the buffers so they stay indexed, the site itself never sees it. internal links carry it down from the hubs. trying to link every page on a 5k page site is how you burn a year and the budget with it

I usually focus on the main domain first, then build links to specific pages that need more authority. I also try to keep the link profile natural by prioritizing relevant websites and quality placements rather than chasing link volume.

Yeah, absolutely agree with you. I would rather concentrate on creating useful links leading to the relevant pages, which require an additional push from internal linking.

For large sites we will usually focus building links for home page and also category pages which are mostly have transactional intent. Also will concentrate on internal linking which is most important one!

Well, making sure that authority is being pushed through the hubs will be more logical than trying to get links for each individual URL. Internal linking will do the trick if you have strong hubs.

Yeah, that does make sense. I would go for links to relevant hubs and money pages first, and then distribute authority through natural linking.

Figured every page needed its own backlink push. kinmiaa's 'hubs not pages' point flipped that for me. Suddenly way less link-chasing than I'd expected.

Imo, i wouldn’t just chuck links at homepage, especially when site with loads of pages. Be focus on pge with decent ranking potential nd use internal links to push relevance through to related pge. No point building links to every URL for the sake of it and keep eye on what moving in SERPs and tweak approach from there.
