Yeah, but at some point, having more links becomes pointless. If that particular page has any sort of authority, I would try improving intent and content first.Backlinks still help, but I spend more time fixing content gaps before building new links.
Same for me. Once you have traffic, making improvements in terms of content and user experience would do much better than constantly looking for backlinks. Backlinks definitely help, but what really matters is having satisfied visitors.Recently, I’ve been putting more emphasis on content. Of course, backlinks are still an essential factor, but once I have stable traffic, I focus more on the value my blog provides to its visitors.
Yeah, definitely. I would extract maximum value from existing pages first rather than adding content and links. It's not one tactic, updating useful content, improving internal linking & building relevant quality backlinks work well together, the priority should be matching search intent & strengthening pages that already have potential
Yeah, it does make sense to update first and then improve on discovery. It is just that I will keep track of recrawl and ranking separately because of the link factor.backlinks, but only because updating on its own does nothing until google recrawls the page. what worked this year is doing both in order, update the page, then push 20 or 30 support links from a verified list at it so its crawled that week instead of next month. updated pages i did that on moved in 2 weeks, the ones i just updated sat for 6. its not one or the other, its updating and then giving google a reason to come look
Backlinks and fresh content might help, but simply updating pages to show activity will not do much by itself. In my opinion, it would be best to update the pages with relevant content and earn backlinks.I say it's backlinks, and content freshness. Both are the best way to let google know that your website is still active, and have worthy content.
So, what I said is the same, you just rephrased my comment, do some efforts to do real and helpful comment.Backlinks and fresh content might help, but simply updating pages to show activity will not do much by itself. I will start with checking the pages that are losing traffic in GSC and comparing them to current rankings and only then, if the page is answering the query better than competitors move on to backlinks.Wondering what strategies are working well for everyone in SEO. Are you finding that updating your content or backlinking is more effective?
I’d go with both. Backlinks are a priority, but updating the content and changing images can work well too. I wouldn’t leave a page untouched while building links, especially if parts of it are outdated or could be more useful.Wondering what strategies are working well for everyone in SEO. Sure, but I would start by updating the page if need be, and then continue working on backlinks. There’s no point in making links for a page that lacks important content.I’d go with both.
