I noticed something interesting lately with Pinterest.

I created 2 new accounts, 1 personal and 1 business.

However, both accounts don't have the "Visit Site" button.

And I am not talking about my own pins, I didn't upload any. I am talking about any pin on Pinterest. Invisible on all of them.

My old & established account still show's it though...

Anyone else noticed the same?

Could this be the new, Pinterest default account mode? If this becomes the default/standard thing, then clicks will gradually decrease as the new users will not see the button anymore....

this is an unussual distinction in new accounts compared to older ones. perhaps pinterest is trying out different layouts for new accounts but it would be a drastic move if they were going to remove this button for everyone since it will affect many users who r using this feature to drive traffic to their websites.

could be a new account limitation or a test on Pinterest's side, id give it some time and check again later, hopefully its not permanent tbh

Pinterest can show different layouts depending on the account and pin type. Since your older account still has the button, it could be a new-account rollout or interface test rather than a permanent change.

I’d check again after a few days before assuming outbound clicks will be affected across the platform.

I’m still using my old accounts, and the button is still there, so everything seems to be working normally. I probably need to create a new account to see if there are any differences in how it operates, or if they’ve introduced a new system for accounts.

We tested it with another BHW member and it's not visible for him either (on a new account)...

maybe they are testing out different pin arrangements depending on ur history. if the destination is accessiblle, then maybe it is just a visibility problem rather than a linking one. could be interesting to find out if new accounts created in other countries do the same thing.

Could be an account-level rollout or interface change rather than a permanent removal. I’d test on desktop and mobile and check whether the button appears on different pins. If it persists, Pinterest support may be able to confirm whether it’s intentional.

however, if the link remains clickable after opening the pin itself, then there may be a case for the layout change rather than removing links alttogether.the bigger issue is how many people will take the additional step.i would be curious to know what impact there was on outbound clicks on newer profiles as well.

Did you check the settings of the said accounts? I'm curious why this is happening to you.
