I just discovered that TikTok has updated its features to allow posting stories and live photos.
Will this benefit creators? Will it be as effective as other platforms?

Stories drive higher engagement through casual, behind-the-scenes content that feels authentic. It is a good way to stay top of mind with your existing audience without the pressure of polished viral videos.

The benefit of a TikTok Story is that it appears before a user actually enters your channel when they click to view it; essentially, it serves as a short advertisement for your channel.

I think Stories can help creators stay connected with their audience between posts, while Live Photos are useful for sharing more casual moments. They probably won’t replace regular videos, though. The real benefit depends on how well creators use them to keep people engaged.

they’re not automatically a reach boost. i’d test them alongside your usual videos

i would view stories as something that would help me retain my existting audience as opposed to helping me get a wider reach. live photos may be good for a personal account but i need to see what kind of audience it is. it would be interesting to test both for two weeks.

TikTok's introduction of the Stories feature is quite effective for promoting your account; I believe it will grow and successfully attract viewers.

I think so, when adding new features, we should take advantage of them to keep viewers around longer.

From what I've seen, it seems not everyone can view TikTok stories.

Yes, that's right. I feel like people often have a habit of clicking on the circle in the story.

Live Photos and photo posts give you more ways to share content without producing a full video every time. I wouldn’t expect them to outperform Reels though.

That’s a good idea, but its effectiveness depends heavily on user behavior; currently, TikTok audiences do not have the habit of actively tapping to view Stories as much as they do on Instagram.

Stories could help creators stay connected with followers between uploads. Their real value will depend on visibility, engagement, and whether viewers return to watch regular videos.

Stories are good for quick updates, while Live Photos can make posts more interesting. I’d try both and see what your audience likes more.

I think its purpose is just to maintain interaction. Besides that, I haven't seen any other uses.

It certainly offers an interesting experience, but I haven't seen it being used widely yet.

The bigger question is whether people will actually use these features regularly a new feature can look useful on paper but if viewers keep scrolling past it creators may not get much out of it

I think this feature is only meant to increase existing interactions, not to attract new ones.

I noticed it appeared very quietly, with few people paying attention. It’s just a bit of added flavor.
