Has quora become more about choosing the right question than writing the best answer?

I think both are important, but responding early usually has an advantage. After that, the quality of the content is what determines whether the post will retain views in the long term.

Quora is being seen as a spammers' platform now. I'm seeing fewer results from quora on google. Reddit is leading this Q & A style content.

No doubt, being early definitely gives you an advantage, but your answer still needs to be useful if you want to get long term views.

I think timing definitely helps but i have also seen older answers gain traction after being updated with better information. If a question has long term search interest then improving an existing answer can still bring good results even if you were not the first to reply.

Yeah, timing seems to matter a lot now. Being early definitely helps you get visibility before the thread gets crowded, even if later answers are more detailed. It feels more like "first good answer wins attention," not just "best answer wins."

I think the way a question is worded can make a difference too. Sometimes a simple question is easier to answer properly because you can understand exactly what the person is asking. If the question itself is confusing, even a detailed answer might miss the point.

I’m still new to Quora, but I’ve noticed that some questions are just easier to answer than others If I can understand the question quickly, I can usually think of a better answer too.
Maybe I’m overthinking it lol.

I think the question itself can make things easier Some questions give you plenty to talk about, while others leave you thinking, what am I even supposed to add here? lol. So I’d probably choose the ones where I actually have something useful to say.

Sometimes a simple answer posted at the right time gets more attention than a really detailed one posted hours later. I guess timing and relevance both matter on Quora.

Early answers tend to grab the first wave of views and upvotes, so they keep getting pushed more.

A really solid detailed answer can still catch up if it gets some early traction, but being first on a good question usually wins the visibility race.

Noticed that some quick answers get far more views than detailed ones posted later. Has anyone else seen this ? Do you think being early on a question matters more than writing the best answer?
Both speed and giving proper responses matter. However, speed usually wins, because when you answer very fast, mostly adequately you're definitely bound to get more views and likes, even if you had answered a bit later.

Quora craze is getting low after ai. There have been too many sites with content nowadays. It wont work what it was used to work on quora

Sometimes I think the topic itself makes a huge difference. If I know something about the question, writing a good answer feels much easier. No need to force a long answer
just to look knowledgeable lol.

Maybe the trick is knowing when a question isn't worth your time. I’d rather answer something where I can add a useful point than spend an hour writing a masterpiece for a question nobody
is interested in lol.

Haha, makes sense. Imagine spending hours writing an answer and getting 2 views lol. I'm still trying to understand how Quora works myself.

Sometimes I wonder if people even finish reading the long answers I know I’ve opened a detailed reply and forgotten what the original question was halfway through, lol. Keeping things simple has its own charm.

I thought choosing the right question matters a lot too. You could write a really good answer, but if the question doesn't get much attention, it might not get many views lol. How do you usually tell if a question is worth answering?
