Hey guys, I wanted to ask how you handle uploading video content to multiple short form platform. Do you post exact same edited video everywhere or does the algorithm penalize duplicate content ? Would love to know what workflow work for best for organic reach.

My approach would be to use one main edit, customize it slightly for each platform, and let the performance data guide future uploads rather than doubling the workload from day one.

i post the same video on all three, just remove the watermark and tweak the caption a bit, saves time and still works pretty well tbh

It’s definitely a good idea to maximize reach, but make sure to remove any watermarks (like TikTok logos) before cross-posting. Also, optimize the captions, hashtags, and audio native to each platform for the best reach.

Live stream clips from platforms like YouTube, Kick, or similar ones are very popular.

I’d post the same core video across all three, but change the caption and hook to fit each platform. I’d also upload the original file without watermarks.

For me the main thing is checking retention and reach separately on each platform, because a video that does well on TikTok might not get the same response on Reels or Shorts.

There isnt really a shared database checking for duplicate videos across platforms so posting the same clip usually isnt a problem by itself. The bigger issue is downloading a video thats already been posted and uploading it again, since it gets compressed twice and watermarks can hurt reach. Just use the original export from your editor instead, for trending music its better to pick the track inside each app when you upload, so it gets linked to the actual audio page

I dont think posting the same content is a bad idea. The audience on each platform is different anyway. I would focus more on the first few seconds and make sure the video feels native to each platform.

I’d focus more on the first few seconds for each app, since the audience reacts differently on TikTok, Reels and Shorts.

i've noticed shorts punishes the first 2 seconds way harder than reels does, so i trim the intro there and keep the slower build for reels. same file, just a different cut point wouldn't say it's all the same

I’ve also used the same video across multiple platforms with good results; I haven't encountered any issues regarding policy violations or reach, so everything is running smoothly.

If you post the exact videos in many platforms it is normally ok, unless they are not your own videos, where you will get DCA fast.

It's usually fine but if you can kind of make some sort of edit to it, it works

Are you scheduling them through third-party tools or doing it manually from each app? That usually makes more of a difference than the video file itself.
