Honestly, I usually check what smaller sites are ranking for. That gives me some decent ideas for low competition keywords.

Of course, most SEO tools use similar third-party data, and changing tools will not necessarily uncover any new information. However, I would analyze trends from different tools and validate them using Google Search Console and SERP reports before making decisions.

Usually I look at what competitors are ranking for that's getting attention and figure out why it's hot. then I take that keyword and similar ones into a keyword tool, check search volume and intent.

Difficulty isn't my main filter. and I don't just trust the tool numbers. I would open an incognito window and search the keyword for real to see what's actually ranking.

tbh i find a lot of good keywords with google search itself, sometimes tools show different numbers so i dont trust them fully.
