something that worked well a few years ago might not deliver the same results today which seo tactic have you dropped and what replaced it?

Same here, thin content written to target all keywords does not establish long-term rankings. I would rather go for proper coverage of the topic and update my content based on traffic.Writing short articles just to target every keyword did not help much, so the focus shifted to more useful content.

For me it is publishing fresh content only bcz i have to hit all the low volume keywords. Right, matching intent is more important than inserting keyword matches into each paragraph. I would rather answer the question that was asked and use the relevant vocabulary.keyword stuffing and using exact keywords became less relevant in the seo world i would rather concentrate on search intent and creating useful content for people than repeating the same keywords again and again.
now i would not place too much emphasis on the exact keyword match approach. i would prefer concentrating on search intent nd the analysis of the compettitors activity, as well as creating useful content. it looks like seo is working well when one concentrates on the reader rather than ranking.something that worked well a few years ago might not deliver the same results today which seo tactic have you dropped and what replaced it?
