[2026 BHW Indexer Study]

Here is 2026's update of my 'pretty much yearly' indexer test, testing every current indexing service that has an active sales thread on BHW. This is mainly for my own use, but hopefully the info is useful to others too.

I use orphaned pages to run these tests, devoid of any internal/external links or entries in sitemaps, meaning that there should be no way for spiders to reach these pages without a working indexer notifying them of their existence. I also track exactly if and when Googlebot visits these orphaned pages. Also, in this years study I'm checking whether the submitted urls turn up in Ahrefs reports, as the number one question I'm asked when building links for someone is "Will it show up in Ahrefs?" o_O

This time I'm testing 2 different types of content:
'Spam' Content - this is nonsense text derived from a parts-of-speech/word frequency algorithm, and is primarily what I used on my mass spam sites until GPT-2 and GPT-J became available for use. This is the type of content I have been using in previous years tests.
AI Content - this is content generated by various LLMs from a very simple prompt, fresh from the API with no human editing - just a run through an automated filter.

I set up pages on 10 domains that I own, 2 pages for each indexing service - 1 x 'spam', 1 x AI. These pages have no internal or external links pointing to them, are not included in any sitemaps, and have only been visited via a de-Googled Chrome browser to check they are indeed live. The domains were already naturally indexed before commencing the study.

I'm tracking any visits from Googlebot via the access_log for each domain - no third party stats packages, straight from the main data source.

Since the last update of this study, 4 indexing services has closed their BHW sales threads (Indexing Fire, Link Indexing Bot, Link Indexing Expert, SpeedyIndex), and 3 new services have started advertising (IndexBolt, NeuralIndexer, Quick Index).

When I started this iteration of the study there were 8 indexing service providers with an active sales thread in the BHW marketplace:

All new accounts were set up to conduct this test. No 'free credits' or any other offers were used, all paid accounts.

Like last time I'm also testing blog comments as an indexing vector too - ~30 <100 OBL links to each url.

How am I checking indexing?

Since Google removed the cache: search operator a while back, I'm now only using site:domain.com/page searches to determine whether a page is indexed or not.

How am I checking Googlebot visits?

I check the access_log file for each domain and look at what is looking at the urls I sent to each indexer. If the url is accessed by a user identifying as Googlebot or GoogleOther, and from a Google-owned IP range, I class that as a Googlebot visit.

I tracked indexing every day for a week, and then followed up weekly, up to four weeks. Time began when the urls were submitted to each service. No 'drip feed' values were given, I went with whatever the standard option each service had.

Additional Information

Indexing Expert and UltimateIndexing managed to index searchbox parasites (eg. domain.com/?s=search string here).

Page Indexer and UltimateIndexing managed to index .pdf files.

Blog comments and UltimateIndexing managed to get the submitted pages showing up in Ahrefs.

Blog comments, Linkdexing and UltimateIndexing urls received a wide range of bot visits - AI bots (OpenAI, Claude, Perplexity etc), SEO tools bots (Ahrefs, Semrush etc), other SE bots (Bingbot, DuckDuckBot etc)

Will update results after 90 days have passed.

We are pleased to see 100% recognition of our indexing by the much respected Ahrefs and a 70% indexation rate of non spam content.

We would just like to make some important points about our service.

1. We screen for most SPAM and no longer index it as it so we can focus on quality content for our customers. We now mark spam separately in our reports (new feature).

2. We suspect 2 of the providers above are one and the same company so it feels a bit unfair that they get double exposure. One may be a reseller or white label business for the other.

There have been multiple services in past years that were obviously connected, reselling, or piggybacking off other services - eg. SpeedyIndex used to check submitted urls using a specific useragent, so it was very easy to spot those resellers. I'm just reporting the results of the test.
 
Dude i'm suprised you havn't registered SteptoesIndexreliabilityAPI[.]com and just make a live always on yearly view, lol then people could ping your api, from one of these api seller providers, for say $3-5 a month. Bet you'd get loads of people, as your research is a top grade process.

The test was run using orphaned pages on weaker domains, so any services that work should also work fine for parasites and web2.0

The domains were already naturally indexed before commencing the study.

I'm tracking any visits from Googlebot via the access_log for each domain - no third party stats packages, straight from the main data source.

Since the last update of this study, 4 indexing services has closed their BHW sales threads (Indexing Fire, Link Indexing Bot, Link Indexing Expert, SpeedyIndex), and 3 new services have started advertising (IndexBolt, NeuralIndexer, Quick Index).

All new accounts were set up to conduct this test. No 'free credits' or any other offers were used, all paid accounts.

Like last time I'm also testing blog comments as an indexing vector too - ~30 <100 OBL links to each url.

How am I checking indexing?

Since Google removed the cache: search operator a while back, I'm now only using site:domain.com/page searches to determine whether a page is indexed or not.

How am I checking Googlebot visits?

I check the access_log file for each domain and look at what is looking at the urls I sent to each indexer. If the url is accessed by a user identifying as Googlebot or GoogleOther, and from a Google-owned IP range, I class that as a Googlebot visit.

I tracked indexing every day for a week, and then followed up weekly, up to four weeks. Time began when the urls were submitted to each service. No 'drip feed' values were given, I went with whatever the standard option each service had.

Indexing Expert and UltimateIndexing managed to index searchbox parasites (eg. domain.com/?s=search string here).

Page Indexer and UltimateIndexing managed to index .pdf files.

Blog comments and UltimateIndexing managed to get the submitted pages showing up in Ahrefs.

Blog comments, Linkdexing and UltimateIndexing urls received a wide range of bot visits - AI bots (OpenAI, Claude, Perplexity etc), SEO tools bots (Ahrefs, Semrush etc), other SE bots (Bingbot, DuckDuckBot etc)

Will update results after 90 days have passed.
