I have noticed that some quora writers consistently receive strong answer distribution and engagement within specific topics even when they have largest follower counts . This make me wonder how quora determines who is truly knowledge in a particular niche.

Understanding these signals could help writers build authority more effectively and contribute more valuable content.

  • Does consistency answering questions within the same topic improve authority?
  • how much do upvotes, comments , and share influence perceived expertise?
  • can newer accounts establish topical authority quickly or does it require a long history of activity?
  • which factors have you personally found the most important for building credibility and visibility in a specific niche ?
I am interested in hearing personal experiences.

I would say consistency definitely helps. The writers who keep answering in the same topic seem to get more visibility over time. Upvotes and comments matter, but I don't think they are the main thing. I have seen newer accounts do really well just by posting genuinely useful answers.

For me, staying focused on one niche and answering regularly has worked better than chasing engagement metrics.

Quora seems to reward expertise through a combination of signals rather than any single factor. Consistency answering questions within the same topic helps build topical authority over time.

When Quora sees that your content regularly receives positive engagement in a niche , it appears more likely to disturb your future answer to relevant readers.

upvotes , comments , and share are important because they indicate that people find your answers valuable.

Newer accounts can establish authority relatively quickly if they focus on one niche and consistency publish high quality ,helpful answers.

Personally, The factors I have found most important are choosing relevant questions and providing value , stay active within a specific niche and maintaining answer quality.

Yes, you have to stick to the similar topics to get better authority.

As a beginner i would say that no system is perfect but I believe providing value and staying active in a specific niche can help to grow an account.

I am new to Quora myself, but my guess is that consistency plays a bigger role than follower count. I have seen smaller accounts get good reach when they regularly post helpful answers in the same topic.

i would say Quora rewards genuine expertise but visibility still depends on multiple factors.

I think it also matters how well your answers connect with each other. If someone checks a few of your answers and sees you covering related topics, it can give a better idea of what you actually know about.

Consistency in one topic definitely helps because people start recognizing you as someone worth following there.

Upvotes and useful comments matter too, but the biggest thing is giving answers that are specific, accurate, and based on real experience.

I feel Quora looks at the overall pattern, not just follower count. If your answers keep making sense for a particular topic, people can start associating your account with that subject.

So yeah, even a small account can get noticed if the content speaks for itself.

I think the way someone explains a difficult question can say a lot too.

If they can make a complicated topic easy to understand without overexplaining, I’d personally take that as a good sign that they actually understand it.

I’m still figuring out Quora, but I’m curious about something.

Does going back and improving your older answers help with building authority too? Or is Quora mainly looking at the new answers you keep posting?

I don't think there is a magic 50% cutoff
I'd worry more when nearly every new article exists just to link out bc that footprint is much easier to spot than any exact ratio

I think how people respond to your answers can tell a lot too. If readers keep asking follow-up questions or adding to the discussion, that probably shows they found the answer useful.

It can be a good sign that you’re covering the topic well.

I wonder if the questions you choose matter too. If someone keeps answering specific questions around the same area, maybe Quora gets a clearer idea of what they actually know.
I’m curious how much that affects visibility though.

I have noticed the same thing. Staying focused on one niche seems to help more than simply chasing views and upvotes. Have you noticed if older answers in the same niche keep getting traffic over time, or does most of the visibility come soon after posting?

Consistent work is definitely a driving factor. I usually tend to stay within a niche and try to be as helpful as I can in order to be perceived as an authority in the niche.

I’m still figuring Quora out, but I’ve noticed the questions you pick can make a pretty big difference. Answering random topics all over the place probably doesn’t help much either

I’m still figuring Quora out, but I feel the quality of the answer probably matters more than just posting a lot. If you can explain something clearly without making it sound like a textbook,
people are more likely to actually read it.

I’ve been wondering if the range of questions someone answers matters too If they can handle both simple and more specific questions around the same topic, that
might show they actually know the subject.
