I dont understand the article google search is over as we know it

ai is literally just a sophisticated search engine that returns continous data points rather than discrete individual links

this seems like google changing its format of results than killing the search.while for straightforward queries an ai response will do fine, people will still need to visit the sites when it comes to shopping, reviews, news, services or research. google itself has numerrous options where it can fit ads and other results in search. the only question is how much traffic will be lost by the sites bcz of improving ai responses.

I think Google will still need websites as sources, but AI answers may reduce clicks. Ads and shopping results will still make them money. The real question is how much organic traffic websites will lose.

I dont understand that article from yesterday that says google search is over as we know it
so in the near future when you google something, you will get just a chatgpt answer? no blue links?
how are they going to make money doing this? where will the ads be?
I don't think blue links are going away anytime soon. Google still needs websites and ads to make money. The bigger concern is whether AI answers will reduce clicks to websites, even when they rank well.
