I'm working on a new site and wondering how long it normally takes before you start seeing decent organic traffic.
I know it depends on the niche and competition, but I'm mainly interested in real experiences.
For those who recently started a new site, how many months did it take before traffic started picking up?

Yeah it really depends on the niche and also if you're targeting each keyword, it could take a bit longer. It just depends on the niche. What niche are you working on? That can give an estimate but it takes an average of 2 to 3 months to start getting some decent traffic on Google. That's if you're SEO-optimized your content. Make sure you do that

A new website needs 3 to 6 months of continuous work before getting a few thousand views worth of traffic.

i think 3-6 months is a fair time to start judging it. some pages can rank earlier if the keywords are easy.

Build the site normally and give it time to grow before deciding that the niche is not working.

Usually, A new website 3-6 months to start getting meaningful organic traffic, It depends on content quality, competition , technical SEO, and backlinks.

Some pages may bring small traffic early, even when the rest of the new site is still quiet.

for my evaluation of the new website at least 3-6 months is needed. It is faster to draw traffic by easy page but in the competitive niche, it take some time to react to that and thus I will continue to work and see the results in the GSC.

yeah, 3-6 months seems like a good starting point to me. i would also base my assessment on impressions and queries in addition to the position on page

I think continuous work for 3-6 months is what you need before getting decent traffic.

In my experience, it usually takes a few months before you see much movement. Some sites pick up faster, but for a new site I’d give it at least 3–6 months.

Update the pages that start getting some visibility instead of waiting for the whole site to grow at once.

Most of the time, I am able to see impressions in the first few months; however, significant traffic could take six to twelve months.

It took me about half a year to develop any impression graphs in my previous project. Patience is the key thing here i would say.

It takes 3 to 6 months to evaluate a website's effectiveness and organic growth; if your site performs exceptionally well, you might see results sooner within 2 to 3 months though generally, the process takes a considerable amount of time.

Usually around 4–6 months if the SEO and content are solid. Easier niches can move faster, competitive ones often take longer.

If you create a landing page before launch, and post around on socials to the "Big Release Launch!" then you can drum up visits right away, at a low cost and low effort. Just hookup a mail service to a site like carrd. Grab emails. Thats what i done.

Although i screwed up by using a shitty mail provider that didn't accept my credit card, so i couldn't export or do anything with the paid side of things. I had to launch the site a year later with just fresh emails, and hope that people would figure it out.

But i got traffic right away after launching, and new registered users everyday since, site is over a year old.

the timeline is not very rigid. a new site might actually get impressions quite quickly but to have consistent traffic coming from them would reqquire some more time. i myself would wait for at least 4 to 6 months before evaluating their performance. if some of the pages get impressions i would first concentrate on optimizing them rather than adding new pages.

Usually I see the first random clicks within a month or two but nothing I'd call real traffic

around month 3 to 6 is when I expect pages to start moving if the keywords were picked well
