Hey guys, I am thinking to start new blog site then for google adsense and I am a bit confused about the August and September spam updates.
for those who started a site this year, which niche is actually ranking for you, and how long did it take to see your first traffic?

my main concern is selecting the niche too. and real experience is what I am after, so if you have tried something that flopped, I would like to hear that too.

Thanks in advance!

I would not chase a "magic" niche after the updates. I would pick a low-competitive topic where you can add real experience and useful content. My smaller sites usually take a few months to get consistent traffic, so patience is part of the SEO budget.

Do not choose a niche only because it looks easy now, check if people are actually searching for the products or services too.

i would not chase a safe niche only bcz of the update. for a fresh blog, it is better to choose a niche that u know something about. it will take several months for traffic to become consttant nd i think i would be more concerned with the content rather than adsense.

Business & technology would be the best niche

local hubby niches might be worth exploring they can have lower search volume but specific questions are sometimes easier to answer better than big sites.

I feels that post new Google updates the only thing that can bring results is high quality content with credible information. By doing so, your blog will comes in favour of both search engine results and AI search snippets. Target direct answers, real insights and be focused to bring more value to information you are sharing regardless of the niche you choose.

Consider creating a site that serves as a rich database for AI scrapers. AI will eventually pay creators for scraping content and if you provide legit & reliable data, you can earn money as a source.

Thank you everyone! useful tips

good point on patience, I am treating this as a side project so a few months is fine with me.

good point I will check search demand before committing to anything

business and tech , but isn't so very difficult niche for new website? Which sub topic would you start with?

I think you mean hobby niche so I like this idea as this is a part time plan so let me think bout my subject related topic niche. :)

As such, generic content is increasingly difficult to push. Clear solutions, firsthand knowledge, and credible sources have become increasingly important, even when considering visibility on both conventional search and ai results.

You should write about something you care about. That is because if you rely only on your blog's profitability you may quit after some time. So if you are pationate for what you're writing about and can still write without getting a big paycheck, you would still continue to write even with setbacks. Last but not least if you're still writing even with setbacks you 1) learn how a blog and niche work intimately, 2) have greater chances of succeeding and monetizing the blog even with the setbacks.

I would try a niche where i can share real experience, like specific software tutorials or DIY guides. Publish useful content consistently and give it a few months before judging the results.

started mine this year so real experience not theory lol. the niche didnt matter as much as i thought, i picked something i actually do on weekends and the first clicks came month 4. what flopped was my first attempt, a "best X" affiliate blog in a niche i knew nothing about, 30 posts, zero traffic, i quit it in month 3. and honestly the thing that moved the second one was when i finally built some backlinks, not the niche. months of only writing did nothing

i not put too much weight on finding one perfect niche after these updates rather choose a smaller topic where you actually know something and can make the content useful from personal experience new sites usually need some time before traffic becomes steady so i think a few months is a more realistic expectation

Exactly... SEO work with time its not work as overnight

I would begins with something you could personally test out urself such as software tutorials or hobby tools, instead of yet another generic information site trying to earn easy ad-sense money because ranking becomes difficult when all posts seem inter changeable.

the first thing i would like to do prior to choosing a particular niche is see if there are small websites already receiving traffic from such keywords. it gives u a more reallistic picture of things than trying to follow all the popular niches out there. rather than write tons of articles i would want to solve a particular problem.

TBH, it’s better to do research on what the smaller sites are ranking for prior to choosing your niche, since this will tell you what is feasible.
choose something you already know a little bit about becuz those generic adsense blog are becoming harder to market these days.
first click might take a few months, so don’t panic if nothing happen within the first few weeks.

I’d focus on micro-niches like specific software tutorials, local service guides, and niche product comparisons. Lower competition and first-hand experience matter more than chasing a supposedly update-proof niche. What niches are you guys seeing rank for new domains after the recent Google updates?
