Do you guys think a nice looking store really matters if you’re mostly selling tools?

I’m not really sure a store that’s mostly home tools needs some super nice design. I mean, most of the buyers are probably guys anyway lol:)

But everyone keeps saying your website has to look good and all that. Not sure if it’s worth spending money on a web designer yet

For tools, I'd prioritise clear dimensions/compatibility, close-up photos, delivery costs and an easy mobile checkout. Ask someone unfamiliar with the store to find a suitable tool and get to checkout without help; where they get stuck gives you a concrete brief for a designer.

It matters, but it doesn’t need to look fancy.

Focus more on clear product photos, good descriptions, easy navigation, and a trustworthy checkout. I’d get those right before spending money on an expensive web designer.

that’s actually a good idea. I never thought about having someone who hasn’t seen the store try to find something and get to checkout. I’ll probably try that before paying a designer, thanks

yeah I think I was focusing too much on how the store looks instead of the basic stuff. probably makes more sense to fix those things first before spending money on a designer:D

I thikn it doesn’t need to be fancy, but a clean and trustworthy design can make a big difference with conversions, so I’d focus on usability before spending big on a designer.

A clean and fast site makes people trust you with their credit card, so focus on easy navigation first before spending big money on fancy looks.
