Noticed a few placements i paid for are gone. Some the post is still up with the link quietly stripped out, others the whole page has vanished.
Chasing the owner takes ages and half of them never reply anyway.
Do you go after them, or just write it off and put the money into a new placement.

I’d chase it once especially if the placement was recent and there was an agreed replacement period.

I would chase it if it was valuable and drop negatively influenced rankings/traffic.

If not I'd let it slide.
This is unfortunately part of the game.

I chase it. Some of them do this because they feel you won't request for it to be reinstated.

If you reach out to them but they don't respond, initiate a charge back if payment was made with PayPal. If you bough through a platform or marketplace, report them.

That is fraud.

Chase if valuable.

Drop if negative and get another relevant link. Which is similar.

I would confirm the replacement policy before paying, so you know what happens if the link gets removed later.

I’ll usually check why the link was removed before deciding what to do. If it was a genuine editorial placement and the site is still relevant, I may contact the publisher once, but I wouldn’t keep chasing it if there’s no response. Time is better spent finding another relevant opportunity.

I would certainly give it a go if it is a gud placement, as long as there is a time frame set for replacement. but if they do not get back to me after that, then I will just forget about it nd transfer my money elsewhere.

Well yeah, one follow-up politely done should be sufficient. In case there’s no reply, I would go forward with my efforts elsewhere.

I would not chase it but once, if it were an excellent placement nd especially if it were quickly removed after purchasing. If they do not respond to that would just move on to something else with the budget.

Yeah, a single follow-up would be reasonable considering how recent the placement was. But if they don’t respond to it, I would simply move on.

A removed link that was bringing referral traffic is worth recovering more than one that never sent any visitors.

I'd first check whether the placement was guaranteed for a specific period before deciding.
If it's already outside the agreed timeframe i'd probably move on rather then spend too much time chasing it, especially if the cost of replacing it is lower then the time spent following up.

I would follow it once but if no response then move on and put the money back instead of wasting time.

First find out why the link was removed, because you may need a different page for the replacement.

I would chase it once, especially if it’s a recent placement. If there is no response, I would move on and invest the budget in a new relevant placement.

i would follow up one or two times particularly if the placement is paid but i would not chase them endlessly.in case of no answer, i would forget about it nd invest the budget into something more sure.experience shows that the most effective approach is to monitor the links on a regular basis nd stay away from those websites where the links disappear frequenttly.

I’d give them one quick follow-up, but if they don’t respond, cut the loss and reinvest in a new placement.

You can check the placement and contact the publisher once, especially if it was a strong or recent link and there was a replacement guarantee. If they don't respond, I wouldn't spend too much time chasing it. Move the budget into another relevant placement and keep tracking the important links periodically.
