are reddit users getting better at spotting promotion?

Reddit users have become hyper-aware of native ads, subtle brand plugs, and staged story-driven marketing.

Are you noticing this drop in engagement on story-based text posts, or on direct resource/tool recommendation threads?

The difference is often in the intent and presentation. If you participate in discussions, share real experiences, explain things in detail, and occasionally mention a relevant resource, it feels like a contribution rather than a marketing campaign.

yea they def have. sub mods catching it faster now. aged accounts help but u still gotta actually contribute not just post links. mixing real takes with legitimate stuff is the only way to not get flagged instantly

yeah for sure. Reddit users can spot the salesy stuff pretty quick now, especially when the post feels like it was written just to push a link. I think being genuinely useful first and only mentioning the product when it actually fits works much better.

Yeah definitely. Reddit users can smell promotion from a mile away. Sometimes even a normal helpful post gets called an ad just because you mention a product.

yeah, people are much better at spotting promotion now. even a good post can look promotional if the product is mentioned too much.

even useful posts can look like marketing now.
Actually tbh users do not just look at the links but consider the overall intention of the post. If the post appears to be promotional in nature, even a relevant answer is considered promotional.

Yeah, definitely. Reddit users and mods seem much quicker to notice obvious promotion now, especially when an account mostly posts links or pitches with little genuine discussion.
