Spammer is uploading ad images to my GPB; reporting doesn't help, Google isn't responding.

Hi, someone uploaded an advertising image (with a TG address, etc.) to my profile—and to some of my competitors’ profiles as well. I’ve already reported the image myself using several accounts and asked a few people to report it too. But Google hasn’t responded for a week, and the image is the preview for my Google Business Profile, so it’s visible to everyone.

That’s why I have a few questions for you experts:

1. Is there any other way to contact Google besides just reporting the image?
2. As a GBP admin, is there a way to change the images that are displayed (main preview image, etc.)?
3. And how is it possible that Google removes real reviews but simply doesn’t delete these fake/advertising images?

Thank you very much for your help.

Unfortunately, Google's approach to third-party properties is flawed. There are entities like this one that show that this is spam. They won't really act on it, and that has to be. They could be sometimes.

I guess the best approach for you right now is to respond to that image professionally, just to protect your customer. Why have you waited for the feedback from Google to get it removed?

Alternatively, there are some services that help you remove negative reviews. I think in this case, if it's going to hurt your business so bad, then you might probably look into those options. The problem is you are not guaranteed they're not going to come back and repeat the same thing, and you really don't want to keep spending a lot of money fixing the same kind of problem.

Thanks, it's just a picture with no rating. I can access the profile of the account that uploaded it, but I can't report the account, so I basically have no recourse. You also can't report the same picture multiple times from a single account. So all I can do is report it, unless you have another idea that might work.

I also have a rank and rent business facing the same problem: an image that is showing different business details, and it was uploaded by a high-level Google guide account.

And there's no way that you could remove this image from your profile.

Reporting doesn't help.

Maybe try with level 7+ Google Guide account to remove the image or bury it by uploading more images of your business.

if the image is clearly advertising spam, report the contributor profile as well as the individual image rather than only submitting repeated image reports. Google Help

Same thing happened to me. Only thing I've been able to do is bury those fake photos with your own photos or more customer review photos.

i think you have to try google business profile support instead of reporting again send the original image screenshots and proof its not yours also check if you can change the cover photo while the case is pending

i think it worth contacting google business profile support include screenshots of image and proof that it was uploaded without your permission and also check whether changing the cover photo can help while the issue is being reviewed.

Hi everyone,

thanks so much for the recent feedback. I didn't think there was direct GBP support, but it turns out there was, and I was actually able to chat with someone there. I sent them the links to the photos, and six hours later, both spam images had been removed. So it's worth contacting Google directly. That lousy reporting feature doesn't work for problems like this.

Google sucks at reporting, I tried multiple times but some time they are so quick and some time they are dumb. I don't know they have staff crisis or ruining themselves with AI
