are photos affecting visibility?

Hard to test photos on their own since so much else on a profile moves at the same time.

Old ones are what I'd worry about more, a storefront shot from before a remodel has people looking for a building that doesn't look like that anymore.

Are you testing new uploads, or swapping out old ones?

I read a study that found a positive correlation between the number of photos (its what you meant, right?) and ranking. It's hard to say at this point whether it's just a correlation or a causal relationship, but having more photos certainly doesn't hurt.

I’ve seen regular photo updates help with overall GBP activity and engagement, but it’s hard to find photos as a direct ranking factor. You can focus on adding genuine, recent photos of the business, team, services, and work instead of just increasing the photo count. Also keep updating the profile with fresh and additional details can also help with user trust.

It's just a way to show Google that the business is still active.

I think they can help with engagement especially for local businesses but i am not sure about the extent to which they affect rankings
i would like to know whether any tests have been conducted on including pictures and seeing their effects on visibility.

Yeah, fresh and relevant GBP photos seem to help visibility a bit, especially when you keep adding them regularly.

Yeah, photos can make a difference, especially for local visibility. I would keep them relevant, high-quality and updated regularly rather than just uploading a large number of images.
