certainly observing that trend. Many people are using it like google, and as a result keyword ranking results in passive traffic even after the fyp craze ends.
 
tiktok is clearly pushing search harder lately with how they have updated the app layout adding actual keywords in captions and even sayiing the keyword out loud in the video sems to help it surface for relevant searches now.

In my opinion, searchable topics are useful for the long term and help with optimization, whereas for you page helps in getting viral ideas that can be used to go viral for the short term.

i have observed that traffic from search was slow but steady while FYP may blows up a video in a night, search can continue to feeds it for weeks ahead if intentions match.
 
Impressive the amount of bots and useless spammers around

If OP is also not a bot, then the answer varies...some niches are good for search views. Others are not. You won't get many search views from memes. But informative content may be interesting to invest some time optimizing keywords.
 
I don’t think it’s one or the other The For You Page can bring a lot of discovery but search seems more useful when people are actively looking for a specific topic. I’d focus on making the content work for both

Searches have been underrated tbh, particularly for how tos. Trends give FYPs but searches could keep giving views even when the trend is dead
 
The Fyp page give your videos quick massive views while TikTok brings steady views over time. Using clear keywords on a fun video give you the best of the both.
 
yeah search playing a bigger role now especially for topics people already look up using the right words in the video and caption can give it another way to get found
 
i believe for you page is more important then searchable topic. tiktok is mainly scrolling based platform. for that if you can get a place on for you place, your video will gain more views, and it can be viral. on the other side keywords will help you in get views long after you post something on your account.
 
Personally, I find search tools are becoming increasingly intelligent. The habit of entering queries is gradually becoming more widespread thanks to their ability to return highly accurate data.
 
Regarding the "For You" section, I don't think it captures the full picture; it mostly reflects the fact that people are searching for certain keywords quite frequently.
