Hey guys

Have you all tried using any backlinks from real EDU blogs lately? (blogs that actually have traffic/indexing)

I mean real backlinks not those spammy EDU sites are they still a good way to rank or does it matter if the blog is about the same topic?

Would anyone care to share their experience?

relevance and quality of the site in question is more important than the presence of EDU domain itself if there is traffic good content proper indexing and relevancy for the given niche i consider the link much more valuable than a mere EDU one has anybody had consistent success with them lately?

I’ve always considered traffic relevance and editorial placement more important than simply having an EDU domain. A relevant university blog can potentially provide valuable context

yes they are good if you see they are indexing having good traffic then they are good to go.

Yes, It does probably, Everything turns massacre because of low google crawl indexing issue

In my experience, EDU links can still work when they come from real, indexed pages with relevant content and genuine traffic. The EDU extension itself is not what makes the link valuable; relevance and site quality matter much more.

I believe topic relevance and traffic are more important factors than just having an EDU extension in these links!

EDU used to work as a shortcut back when link building tools weighted domain extension itself, but that stopped mattering a while ago. Nowadays I'd rather have a DR20 niche blog with real readers than a random EDU subdomain nobody visits.

If the EDU blog has real traffic, quality content, and genuine indexing, I’d consider it worth testing. The topic should ideally have some connection to your website.
Yes real EDU backlinks are worth it but only if they are contextual indexable and conceptually relevant to your website.

Yeah EDU is good to go also topic relevance is important

A random EDU blog with no quality content isn’t automatically valuable just because of the domain extension. Relevance definitely matters.

Thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts!

Looks like we're all coming to the conclusion that EDU isn't going to be the be all and end all it's the relevancy traffic content indexing etc...

Glad to see everyone share their experiences!

Yes, I’ve seen real EDU blogs with genuine traffic and indexing still provide value but I wouldn’t treat the EDU extension itself as the main factor.

Relevance, page quality, organic traffic and how naturally the link fits the content matter much more than simply being on an .edu domain.

edu on its own has never carried extra weight, that myth has been going round for years and google has said as much more than once. A relevant page on a normal site with real traffic will do more than some university blog post about nothing related to you.

So yes the relevance matters, the tld does not

Real EDU links can still help, but only if the blog has actual traffic, indexing, and some topical relevance
If it’s a random, unused EDU subdomain with no audience, the boost is minimal.

they still work if the edu page has real traffic and the link is in the content, i used them before. just dont make edu your whole profile, a bunch of them in a row looks off so mix in regular sites

judge the edu link by the site itself rather than the domain extension a relevant blog with real visitors and indexed pages can be useful especially when the article fits your niche and the link makes sense in that context

Exactly. .edu domains don't get a pass simply because of their TLD extension. Organic traffic, index retention, and topical alignment are what determine whether the link passes real PageRank.

EDU backlinks can help, but relevance and link quality matter more than the .edu extension itself.

It depend that if the links are high quality, great content and fast indexing then you should take a chance to try them as they could be useful for your page to rank.

Although i have not personally used any EDU links yet if i were to do so i would consider their traffic and relevance more than their EDU extension would like to hear if anyone has had success using them lately.
