i think timing plays a huge part on big subs a good post can pick up a lot of votes pretty quickly.

Maybe it also depends on who is seeing the post.
The same type of post might get ignored by one subreddit but get a lot of attention in another. Reddit audiences can be pretty different

I’m still pretty new to Reddit, so I’ve wondered about this too. Some posts seem to get attention for reasons that aren’t obvious from the outside. I guess that’s one of the interesting parts of Reddit.

sometimes its just a good post hitting the right audience at the right time, tho yeah some people do use fake engagement but thats risky and usually gets removed.

I’m still pretty new to Reddit, but from what I’ve noticed, sometimes a post just gets lucky with the first few people who see it. If those people find it interesting, it can suddenly start getting a lot more attention. I’ve seen this happen with simple posts too.
