I add schema to pages more out of habit than anything at this point. Article, faq, breadcrumbs, the usual set.
Rich results i can see when they appear, fine. But i have never once been able to tell whether it did anything for the actual ranking.
Has anyone here run a page with it and without it and seen an actual difference?
Or is it purely a serp appearance thing now!

Treat schema mainly as a way to help Google understand the page and potentially qualify for rich results.

I wouldn’t expect adding schema by itself to give a noticeable ranking boost. If the markup isn’t valid or relevant, it’s probably not worth adding just for the sake of it.

I wouldnt expect any direct ranking boost from schema itself.

Schema helps Google understand the page and you should add it. It gives Google much clarity about the page data/information.

Had a dig around since posting and everything i can find points the same way, it changes how the listing looks and not much else.

So if it helps at all it is through clicks rather than position, which still counts for something but is not really what it gets sold as.

Schema can do more than just add visible rich snippets. It gives search engines structured context about things like products, organizations, articles, events, and other entities, which can help them interpret the content and qualify it for different search features.

imo structure do not act directly as a ranking factor, but it assists google in comprehending pages entities. the ultimate advantage lies in improved SERP presence when applicable.

Gets you extra impressions for sure
If the snippet itself answers the question , there's no need to click through
So, I wouldn't expect much

Sometimes honestly it feels like a digital placebo half the tym tbh. It does help bots to process things a little bit faster, but it doesnt rank ur page on its own.

Schema’s main win is rich snippets, higher CTR, not a direct ranking boost

I haven’t seen clear cases where adding schema alone moved rankings; it mostly helps your listing stand out and sometimes improves click through, which can indirectly help performance.

It helps in understanding the website better for both Google and AI bots. Its a very good practice for SEO to add schemas on the website

i stopped adding every possible schema type just because a plugin offered it.

for me accurate markup is more important than having a lot of it. if the page is clearly a product/article/local business etc i'll add the relevant schema and keep it clean.

stuffing faq, article, organization and everything else onto every page usually just creates more things to maintain without any obvious benefit.

it doesn't boost rankings directly but it will help google to understand your page better and can show better snippets in search

schema is more of a ctr test than a ranking test in my experience. if you want to measure it properly, use pages already ranking on page one, track position and ctr separately, and keep a similar group without markup as a control. that makes it much easier to see whether the change actually affected clicks.

I’ve seen it more as serp visibility than direct ranking lever. schema helps google understanding page and qualify it for certain rich results, but it doesn’t automaticaly make page rank higher. ranking impact also pretty hard to isolate from evrything else happening on page.

I’ve never seen schema directly improve rankings either. The main benefit seems to be better SERP visibility and CTR when it qualifies for rich results.
