Google’s September 2026 Spam Update started rolling out on September 24 and is expected to take up to two weeks.
Anyone seeing noticeable changes in rankings, traffic, indexing, or SERPs so far?

fourth spam update this year and the first three only took a couple days, this one's saying up to two weeks so something's different under the hood. i'd hold off making any big changes yet, too early to tell what actually got hit. will keep an eye on AI overviews too, not just regular rankings, since that seems to be where more of the shakeups are lately

Is this another update? Saw a thread about one weeks ago or so.

I think its still too early to judge this one. Google says the rollout may take up to 2 weeks and its still showing as active on the status dashboard.
I am more interested to see what happens after the rollout finishes before making any conclusions.

Quite a delayed thread.

I advice anyone to hold off with any drastic changes to your sites for at least a month.

Im monitoring rankings and indexing, but I would wait until the rollout is further along before making any conclusions.

i see massive improvement in SAAS sector exactly 1 week before I start website exactly on 17th this month

Yeah, I agree it’s worth waiting before making major changes. I’m also watching AI Overviews alongside rankings, as the rollout settles and we get a clearer picture of what’s actually moving.
anyone seeing movement in local / map results or is it all regular organic so far?
I would wait until the spam update finishes rolling out before drawing any conclusions.
My blog is still doing fine, and I haven’t noticed any significant changes so far.
Good work

I’d mainly compare GSC clicks/impressions and your main landing pages against the 3 weeks before the rollout then check if the movement is consistent rather than just daily volatility.
Waiting it out like tiiberius said is tough for me since I check GSC every morning. jinri's idea of comparing against the three weeks before is what I'll do instead of guessing.
yeah lets wait and check the changes

sounds good

Nothing on the sites with a proper link profile, one content only site down about 20 percent on day two. Same pattern as the June one. I would not change anything until the rollout ends, but if you want something to check, split GSC by page and see whether the pages that dropped have anything pointing at them. Mine never do.

That is what I am also wondering about but maybe we are a bit too early now because it takes time for an update to be implemented what i would like to see would be the results after the implementation of the update and not just its initial effects on the first few days.
