They’re link previews using Twitter Cards. Add the right meta tags to your site, and X turns the image into a clickable link.

Easiest way is using Open Graph tags no need for hacks, just clean metadata setup.

Proper metadata setup is key makes sharing seamless and more engaging without extra tools.

It's not allowed anymore, but how come I still see them inserting links?
It still works normally, I can still do it right here, but I can only do it with images; as for videos, I don't know how yet.

use the X Ads dashboard to create a standalone Website Card. upload the custom image, link your domain, and tweet it directly. just be careful with aggressive redirects or affiliate links—if X safety bots flag the destination URL, the clickable card image stops rendering across all accounts

You can't use this anymore as it will be marked as promoted and until you tag a certain user nobody can see it

I figure this out after almost a year lol thanks everyone thread can be closed now

It took a lot of time, effort, and money to figure out this trick, but it was definitely worth it for me.

It doesn't really solve anything; the important thing is getting views. If you have views, posting the direct link works just fine.
Posting a direct link is harder to convert, bro. This trick makes the link look more natural to viewers and tends to get a higher click-through rate than simply adding a regular direct link.
