Hey everyone,
I have been testing quora for a while and noticed something interesting. Sometimes a quick answer on the right question gets far more views than a detailed answer on a question that looked promising at first.
It made me wonder whether success on Quora is more about finding the right questions than writing the best answers. For those who have been using quora for traffic or branding then what has had the bigger impact for you?
Question selection or answer quality? Would be interested to hear some real experiences.

Both are important ,but the question selection usually comes first. even the best written answer can struggle to get views if the question has little traffic or audience interest.

I have seen simple ,well targeted answers outperform detailed answers simply because they were posted on questions with stronger demand and visibility.

My approach is to focus on finding high potential questions first and then provide the best answer possible.

In my experience question selection usually comes first. A great answer on a low visibility question often gets overlooked while an average answer on a question with strong demand can pull a lot of views. The best results happen when you combine both which is the right question and a genuinely useful answer.

You have to write relevant answer to get more views.

According to me, question selection comes first. If the question has demand, even a simple answer can get good visibility. But if nobody is interested in the question, even the best answer may struggle.

A few of my simpler answers on popular questions got much more visibility than detailed answers on questions with less activity.

From my limited experience, question selection seems just as important as answer quality, if not more.

Selection of the question matters more on Quora an average-quality response to a highly-visible question will always outrank a stellar response to an irrelevant question.
It is best to find questions with demand, provide a clear response, and keep your audience engaged

I think some Quora questions stay active for much longer than others. So even a simple answer might keep getting views if people continue asking or searching about that topic.

I’m still pretty new to Quora, so I’m trying to understand this myself. Sometimes I feel a simple answer can work better because it’s easier for people to read and understand quickly.

I’ve found that this applies to me, too. An excellent answer will go unnoticed if there isn’t much activity on the question it would be safe to assume that choosing the question gives you the first chance while answering well retains interest after the person finds your answer.

Question selection usually matters more for getting the initial views.

A solid but not perfect answer on a question people are actually searching for will beat a super detailed one on something nobody’s looking at.

Once you’re on the right questions, better answers help them stick around longer, but picking the right ones first is what moves the needle most.

I’m still figuring out Quora, but I’ve noticed that the same answer may work differently for different readers. Understanding what people actually want to know seems important.

I’m still new to Quora, but I’m wondering if the age of a question matters too.

A question that has been around for a long time might already have a lot of answers, while a newer question may have less competition at the start.

Question selection matters a lot. Even a great answer can get little traffic if the question has low demand. I would pick question with steady views first, then focus on giving a useful, well-written answer.

I think that both are important, but the correct question probably takes priority. An excellent response might not get much attention if the question is not popular interested to know if anyone else has experienced something similar.

Sure, I have seen this as well. Great content also fails when the query doesn’t have much demand; therefore, I would validate the query first.

I’d say question selection matters a lot, especially for getting views.

A great answer on a question with little search demand won’t do much, so I’d find questions with good potential first, then focus on making the answer genuinely useful.

I’d probably check how active the question has been lately. If people are still answering and discussing it, I’d take that as a good sign.

Still figuring out Quora myself.
