Just a quick question, how long do you wait for article indexing before contacting webmasters and informing them about a problem?

Do you mean for a guest post, right? ...I guess it has to be.

In that case, I guess you shouldn't just wait on them. You can also submit the link for indexing with a tool.

That's what I normally do anyway.

Unless there's an obvious technical issue that might be preventing the page from getting indexed, then you can reach out to them about that and let them know.

Maybe they can also add some internal links pointing to the article from other posts on the site to help it get indexed

I would wait a few day before reaching out to the webmaster becuz in most cases all it need is time and/or some internal linking.

If the site has high authority and trust and content is good it should get indexed within a day. But mostly I send guest posts to a paid indexer

but in any event, I would wait for a while before contacting the webmaster. there is no harm in crawling the website for one or two more time.

for me when i notice an issue is the day i will report the issue

There is no defined time frame, you don't reach out when you don't have any issues. But as soon as you notice your page(s) is/are not indexing for after your setup. But let me add that sometimes, 2-3 weeks of inactivity is enough for you to raise your querry.

truthfully, it takes me around a week to go for anything, as it can be that pages just need another crawl or internal linking.

Every website has its crawl frequency as per the authority it has around the web. Some websites are crawled frequently whereas some websites struggle to get crawled or indexed. Some people also try to build backlinks for their guestposts in order to improve its crawling and indexing rate. It's better to research the domain for its page crawling and indexing which will help to get info about the post which will get indexed in future.

Indexing time can vary quite a bit, so I wouldn’t judge a new article too quickly. I usually make sure it’s included in the XML sitemap, linked from relevant pages, and returning the correct status code, then monitor Search Console to see when Google picks it up.

Yes, I would definitely give my new page a while before blaming it on indexing problems. The sitemap and internal linking are all sorted and the 200 status code is clean, GSC will tell us everything else.

I always wait for some days because indexing takes various time periods should there be no indexing done even a week later i would get in touch with the webmaster to see what is wrong.

but, since my sitemap, internal link nd 200 status are fine, I would prefer waiting for a few days before checking through google search console.

Usually, I wait about two weeks before reaching out, as that gives the article enough time to get indexed naturally.

If the quality of the site and article is good, it can get indexed within 24 hours. However, indexing time varies depending on the site's crawl frequency. You can wait 7–14 days before contacting the webmaster. In the meantime, check whether the article is crawlable, included in the sitemap, and linked from relevant pages. If it's still not indexed, ask the webmaster to add some internal links to help Google discover it.

To be honest, I would wait a minimum of one week before trying to contact anyone. It is mostly due to crawlers timing or poor internal linking that should be examined first.

we can check 1–2 weeks before contacting the webmaster, especially for guest posts. If it’s still not indexed after that, I’d check whether the page is crawlable and linked internally first, then ask the publisher to take a look

I think that you should probably wait a week or more becuz you just might need a few extra crawl or internal links to boost it up. I would not go after the webmaster yet.
