Are You Performing a Search Intent Check Before Creating Content?

I check the SERP first. The keyword may look easy based on volume and difficulty, but the search results tell me what Google actually considers relevant. I look at the ranking page types, content depth, and search intent before creating anything.

The keyword appears to be an easy one at first, but what does the SERP say? Do you do a search intent check first before creating content from the keyword, or vice versa?
First I check the SERP. If the results don't match what I want to write, I change it before I start.

Always check the serp first. A keyword can look easy in a tool but if Google is ranking a totally different type of page you're probably wasting your time.

I usually check the SERP first because it helps understand what type of content Google is actually rewarding for that keyword

I always check search intent first. the SERP reveals what Google and users expect, helping you create content that actually matches the keyword and ranks better.

SERP check always comes first, No exception. A keyword might look like an easy informational blog post on paper but if the top 10 search results are all e-commerce product pages or tool calculators, google has already decided what users want.

I usually do a quick intent check before creating the content. I look at the top-ranking pages, their content format, and what questions they’re answering. If most results are targeting a different intent than my idea, I’ll change the content angle instead of forcing it.

That’s right here too; SERP intent will tell you more than just the keyword. I’ll look at the rankings first, and then construct my page around those.

Indeed, keyword tools tend to make things look easier than they are. The SERP tells you what format Google really wants.

Absolutely the keyword gives you the starting point but the SERP shows you what Google and users actually expect that context makes it much easier to create content that matches the intent.

serp first, always now. wrote 20 posts for easy looking keywords in 2024 and google ranked tools and category pages for half of them. none of those posts ever ranked. now i search it, and if the first page is not articles i skip the keyword
