Currently sitting at about 170 followers, been going about 2 months, every post / reel reaches over 200 views. Struggling to know where to turn, This week I have started rolling out higher-quality content but Im unsure of how to write a good hook or how to keep retention for reels and carousels.

Get straight to the point and avoid long intros. For carousels, make the first slide interesting enough that people want to swipe, then keep each slide short and useful.

Try starting with the result instead of the setup. Show the interesting part first, then explain how you got there. Made a noticeable difference for my Reels.

keep the message simple and get to the main point fast for carousels the first slide should make people curious enough to keep swiping and the rest should stay short and useful

Start by directly presenting the reader's pain point to grab attention. For short videos, prioritize shortening the buildup: reveal the core highlight in the first 3 seconds, then gradually test different narrative styles to improve retention.

Yeah, the first slide really just has one function, and that is to make you pause and swipe. From then on, just try to have one important thing per slide.

given my 170 followers i would concentrate on getting people to pause their scrolling instead of posting anything else. the reels should always start with the exciting part or something that promises excitement nd all the introdductory parts cut off.in carousels the first slide should evoke curiosity while each subsequent slide should give a reason for keeping the carousel going.

try to copy popular/viral content and check trends videos and make something simular

At this stage focus on testing different hooks and formats rather than overthinking follower count Track retention saves shares and profile visits to see which topics and openings actually keep people engaged.

Use the content you find most compelling, or start with a question that sparks curiosity. Experiment with different styles to see what your audience enjoys most and what aligns best with platform policies.

i don't no which niche are you following, try to change your niche. find a trending niche, which is perfectly matches with algorithm system. for audience retention use just 5sec of hook. tell ai to guide you in hook writing. in hook you can use an interesting information which is you would tell in last of the video. must maintain the uploading consistency.

200 plus views nd 170 followers is actually not a bad beginning. it would be better to experiment with various introductions rather than switch the entire approach. start ur presentation video with something that would answer a question, conttradict an assumption, or create suspense nd leave everything else simple nd clear.

Start the video with suspense and a question might be good that viewers starts to think about and make it relevant. Do not make direct videos and talk directly that people understands before you say make it interesting with puzzles.

Just use GPT, man there are tons of hooks for you to choose from. Grok isn't bad either, you should really try out a bunch of different tools.

Is your niche high in demand? Also once you keep uploading high quality content your audience will more likely build trust in you and follows you so your work is to maintain that quality.

stops testing every new reel as a new test bcz you can find out which format is getting some profile views and then create your concept from three different perspectives honestly

Currently due to user low span time your hook matters the most and it should be relevant aswell as it will get user attention from which you get views.

Probs wouldn't worry about the numbers yet at that point. If most posts are getting good views and consistently, that's at least some distribution. As for hooks, give people a good reason to keep watching. There's good ways to format and structure your content to keep people watching. On the topic of retention, you can see where people actually drop off. Should give you a direction of what needs fixing.
