I've been considering this while working on content ideas.
Do you concentrate on one particular topic only from the beginning or do u incorporate related topics from day one?
Just curious to know what really worked for you guys in terms of traffic generation.

I prefer focusing on one niche but covering related subjects around it. This gives the site enough depth without making the content feel too broad.

I would start with one niche and build related topics around it. That keeps the site focused while site giving you enough content opportunities to grow traffic.

Depends on how closely related.

Probably better to just focus on one or you will dilute and not rank for anything.

I’d start narrow enough to build topical depth, then expand into closely related subjects once you have a solid base. That keeps the site focused without limiting future content opportunities.

a better way would be to narrow down first before proceding to other related areas. going wide right from the start may be to scattered for your website.

Yeah but then when its too narrow u run out of keywords quicks maybe do something narrow first and then expand later on?

first u can begin with a solid theme nd allow all other themes to develop around it. there is no need to be stuck on the same keywords or the same narrow theme all the time. different search results can be obttained through the same process.

That is possible but that's the problem I'm talking about.
If you really run out of keywords and you "expand", you are highly likely diluting.

I start with one main topic and add related topics as I go. Once I see what's getting traffic, I focus more on those topics.

Yes, going too broad from the get-go tends to dilute the website’s content. Get depth into one subject area first before you branch out.

I would start off with a specific topics and from there branch off to other searches that could shares the same target audience.

but I should start off by picking up on one topic nd then expanding into others which will still reach the target audience.

TBH I enjoy starting out by being laser focused but i will also try some relevant angles out from the side first as well. Sometimes that side angle turns out to be more popular.

I think the best idea would be to use one theme to begin with and then work on building up the blog around that after the content starts to develop a bit it is okay to include other themes provided that they are relevant to the target audience.

actually, I would begin from one major concept, expand on it nd then move to others depending on how many impresions it make nd what kind of audience it attracts.

Start narrow, one tight topic to build topical authority, then expand to related subtopics once you’re ranking.

Going too broad early dilutes relevancee a focused cluster ranks faster, then you can branch out without losing traction..

start narrow, but decide the expansion from GSC not instinct. after three months look at which queries get impressions without clicks, those are the related subjects google already thinks you cover, expand into those first. the mistake i made on my second blog was expanding by category name, so i wrote about things google had no reason to trust me on and they never got crawled. each new cluster also needs its own support links pointed at it or the narrow core keeps all the authority and the new section just sits there unindexed
