Hi!

I've noticed that OpenAI seems to have started embedding SynthID watermarks in their images. Has anyone else run into this?

Any idea?

I recently generated some flyers with chatGPT but didn't notice this. If they were included, they weren't very prominent enough to be noticed easily.

ask your coding agent to find the fingerprint and remove it

OpenAI actually uses C2PA metadata rather than SynthID. C2PA is easily removed just by stripping the image's EXIF data or taking a screenshot of the image. There are many tools available to remove EXIF data.

SynthID is Google's watermarking technology, which is embedded into the pixels themselves and is designed to be highly robust, making it very difficult to remove without ruining the image quality.

Normal edits or screenshots might affect the watermark, but they wont guarantee it’s gone. Better to check whether the image actually has SynthID before assuming every AI image contains it.

try this github dot com/cebeuq/Synthid-Bypass

They guarantee the removal of Google SynthID. maybe work with openai.
