Hello everybody,

I would like to learn more about the experiences of people who have some experience in SEO work what type of backlinks do you use to achieve higher ranking positions?

Today there are so many types of backlinks to use such as guest blogging or niche edits and so forth and i find it a bit hard to figure out what is really worthwhile.

Can you share your successful experience and some advice?

Thank you in advance.

I’ve had good results from backlinks that are closely related to my niche guest posts and niche edits can both be useful and I’ve found that relevant context makes the link feel more natural what type of backlinks have been working well for you recently?

Well, I managed to be successful in two methods associated with my business guest blogging and niche editing but personally for me what really matters is that the link is relevant to the topic instead of DA and DR what type of backlinking have you been using successfully recently?

I’d look at relevance and placement before the backlink type itself. A contextual link from a relevant site can be far more useful than dozens of unrelated links. I’ve also found a mix of earned links, guest posts and niche-relevant placements more sustainable than relying on one method.

Here relevance becomes more important than even the type of backlink a few links from the relevant and trustworthy site with actual traffic will be more valuable than creating many random backlinks the quality of the linking page should also be considered rather than DA and DR.

A link from a real site that gets regular visitors is something I would value more than just looking at DA.

Niche relevant backlinks can work really well, especially when they come through manual outreach and are placed on good, relevant websites.

In 2026, the backlinks that work best are high-quality, relevant, and naturally earned:
  • Editorial backlinks from authoritative websites
  • Niche-relevant guest posts
  • Digital PR and news mentions
  • Industry/resource-page links
  • Genuine business/partner links
  • Local citations for local SEO

I usually focus on relevant guest posts and niche edits, while making sure the sites have real traffic and relevance

My advice would be to stop trying to label each one, eg guest blog/niche edit etc, and instead just concentrate on whether your link is embedded in a block of relevant text. It doesn't need to have any keywords in the anchor, just a sentence fragment will do, but make sure the content it's located within is on-topic. That said, there's a specific link type that RAG really seems to favour, IYKYK

In my experience, relevant backlinks work better than just getting a lot of links.

I usually focus on quality guest posts and niche edits from real, relevant websites then track the ranking results and scale what works.

Niche edits placed on pages that already rank and attract genuine organic traffic are currently delivering the fastest results. High quality guest posts on hyper relevant sites remain highly effective as well.

You can try obtaining editorial backlinks from reputable media outlets, as these can yield long-term benefits.

Thanks everyone for your perspectives

it looks like there is a recurring theme in terms of the importance of being relevant contextually placed and having real traffic as opposed to simply DA/DR will continue testing and monitoring the results.

One check that saves money is to search the exact page on Google before buying a link. If the page isn't indexed, or the site's traffic has been dropping lately, skip it, even if it looks relevant on paper. also mix your anchors (brand, URL, plain phrases) and add links slowly, so you can see which ones move rankings.

Honestly the type matters less than where the link ends up sitting. A niche edit on a page that actually gets traffic will beat a guest post buried in some empty blog, and both beat anything on a site that only exists to sell links.

Whatever you go with, check the site for real traffic and make sure the page itself is indexed. That alone filters out most of the junk being sold.

Guest posts and contextual links have worked best for me. I usually care more about where the link sits than the sites headline metrics.

I will focus on more relevance and placement. In my experience a mix of niche guest post, edits and genuine editorial mentions works well when the links are placed naturally within useful content.
