Reddit seems very different from other platforms. How long would you participate before mentioning a business? What mistakes should beginners avoid?

there’s no universal waiting period. Check each subreddit’s rules, contribute genuinely, and only mention a business when it directly answers someone’s question.

What I do is post ten normal comments for every promotional one, so my account doesn’t look like it’s spamming.

I create natural , free-flowing content and try to add value.

Simple.

I would spend a few weeks building a real presence before promoting anything. The biggest mistake is joining a subreddit and immediately dropping links everywhere.

Reddit is truly different platform people come here for real advise or opinion sharing and not at all to watch ads. Your first strategy must be to build your credibility. Share helpful opinions to people doubts and post that wants genuine suggestions. Share genuine and reliable information at relevant subreddits. Once you build strong present start promoting your brand but it must not look promotional. Play smartly with your words.

Problems are always there for reddit
You can't 100% avoid them
Thanks. I'm super new to this, and I'm absorbing all the info here:) I'll be extra careful and provide valuable content, since this is a business I actually own, not someone else's. I'm going to shoot for 20-1 and be as helpful as possible.

If your contribution would still be useful without the link, you are probably approaching Reddit marketing the right way.
