What actually helped you grow on YouTube?

It's mainly thumbnails that caused the difference. We usually check out what our competitors do and then try to replicate those methods (the working methods of the competitors only). Thumbnails and titles are the main things as they persuade the click, the rest depends on the content.
Some say make only 1-2x videos on youtube a week not more about 15-20 minutes...and upload 5-8 shorts too from that video .

Completely cut out the greetings and lengthy musical intro. Get straight to the most dramatic or valuable content immediately to stop viewers from clicking away.

Why so many people adding trashing trend music to their reels even with their face on cam and speech?

staying consistent with uploads and making better thumbnails while paying attention to what viewers like started making difference for me over time

I’d love to hear some real experiences from other creators. Was it better thumbnails, more consistent uploads, improving retention, SEO, or something completely unexpected? I’ve seen channels grow after making one small change, while other strategies barely made a difference.

What was the biggest thing that helped your channel?
Initially, I was focused on SEO and keywords, and I worked on thumbnails, which are the most important part of getting people to click my video and watch it. So, as per my experience, after SEO, focus on thumbnails and the quality of the videos.

the biggest change came from fixing the opening and making the video hold attention longer once people stayed past the first few seconds the results were much better
