What would you suggest a completely newbie who wants to start this full time and make it long term money making job?

Yeah you are right, I guess i didnt want to just throw some bs out there yet didnt want to say exactly my stratergy since "methods" are gatekept but tbh most agencies now are just doing hybrid reels thats no secret however i think the gap is who can make good videos and get millions of views.
Understand that its not for everyone, if you have a bit of a social media backround or marketing backround then you will do well, before you sign a client have a plan as to where your gonna post and how your going to gain subscribers.
If you want it bad enough you will find a way to make it work.

Reason I ask is, I have a business associate that I recently found out has connections to dancers. We are now considering starting an agency as a few have expressed interest in starting an OF.
Is revenue split typically 50/50 between agency/model?

Just buy a contract, or run meta ads and source yourself dont need to overcomplicate it.
Its the easiest part of doing OFM
With a buddy same thing, he knew someone who did OF we pitched that we could help this was 2021 and we were open about hey we kinda dont know what we are doing but lets see how it goes then just from word of mouth expanded.
50/50 is fine especially if your new - if your established and can provide results 60-40 is more then fair considering down the line expenses do come up (ads, salarys to pay DCMA costs etc)

1-Do you strictly work with OnlyFans models and similar platforms? Isn't it better to target independent ones selling on Telegram etc.?
2-How do you normally contact them to offer your services? Cold DMs or another way?

1- just onlyfans
2 - i dont cold dm anyone to offer anything, i sign clients via marketplaces or word of mouth however im not looking for more clients rarely ever do I sign someone new.
