Does it actually matter? Claude & chatgpt would say no, but my intuition tells me you can't trust their opinion on pretty much anything blackhatworld. On the other hand, assuming the page is served quickly and it is secure and has all necessary certs, I'm not really sure what else would really matter about the hosting solution.

host provider is not really a ranking booster itself, but uptime and TTFB are. try to stay away from cheap shared hosting with spammy tenants occupying the same IP address as yours. using cloudflare CDN along with a decent VPS will do the trick.

Hosting affects SEO mostly through speed, uptime, and stability. I’d choose a reliable host that serves pages quickly and securely, then focus on the site and content rather than expecting a host switch to boost rankings by itself.

Yes, hosting is more important in this case for stability than any mystical effect on SEO rankings. If the site is up and fast enough, I would look elsewhere.

However, as far as speed, uptime, security and SSL are already well-done, hosting is most likely not helping with SEO in any way.I would pay attention to server’s location, reliability and resource usage limitations, but then concentrate on the website.

host doesnt rank you, but a bad host can unrank you. moved 3 client sites off shared hosting to a small cloud server last year, ttfb went from 800ms to under 200 and the pages that were already ranking went up a few spots, the ones that werent didnt move. so its a floor not a ladder, get it fast and stable and stop thinking about it

Hosting matters when it hurts response time, uptime, or crawling, not because the provider name itself ranks pages.

Check TTFB, error rates, and crawl stats first; if those are clean, the bigger SEO wins are usually caching, content, and internal technical fixes.
