Posted first video on a new channel and it surprisingly gained traction and got good number of views.

Now I want to completely change the niche.

Should I delete the video and start posting new topics, or private the viral one instead?

Would deleting or privateing the video hurt the channel?

Anyone changed niche? What was your experience? Did the channel fell down?

this will be seen as a great stroke of luck nd will not force the channel into the particular niche. rather it will be a good starting point. i would try 5-10 videos in the new niche nd see how the audience reacts to them. if the old video brings useful traffic there is no need for rushing into delletion.

If the old video is completely unrelated and you don’t want it attracting the wrong audience, you can private it instead of deleting it. There’s generally no need to delete a video just because you’re changing direction.

Right now you should not delete or private the video even if you want to change the niche the best thing would be to start posting new topics of the changed niche without deleting the old video. I have experienced it if you don't delete it and keep posting with the changed niche your channel will get same traction.

I’ve dealt with this before. I’d avoid deleting the video just because you’re changing niches. I’d keep it public or unlist it and start testing the new content gradually. In my experience, consistency in the new niche matters more than the old video itself

Makes the same mistake before but if u do it now you will confuse your subscribers because the algorithm is going to mess everything up might as well start from scratch.

If it's only one video I wouldn't worry much about changing niche. I'd leave it up and start posting the new topic but watch for audience mismatch since old viewers clicking and leaving fast can hurt the new videos

It can hurt the channel but if you keep your subscribers engage and aware them slowly that you are going to change the niche or ask them to advise what they are mostly interested in that can work for you without getting your channel hurt.

avoid deleting the video just because you’re changing niche A private video generally won’t contribute public views so focus on building consistent new content and seeing how the existing audience responds.

your videos amount on channel? if its one video, then don't worry. just private the video. never evar delete any of your videos from your channel, just change the privacy to private. deleting videos from channel, its bad for channel health. after changing the niche it will take some time to grow properly.

I think the outcome depends on the content you plan to post. However, hiding a video that is currently gaining traction isn't a good idea. You should go ahead and post the new video as usual and see how it performs. if you find that your views are being throttled, the best approach is to split the content into 2 separate channels.
