Updating content has been effective for me, especially for those pages that are receiving impressons.Backlinkis are important, but I am particular about their relevance and indexing.
 
backlinks will never be not worth it, it's simply on what the whole thing is based on, you just need to be careful of relevancy and authority

The same for me; usually, those pages that already gained impressions should be refreshed first. As for backlinks, I prefer several relevant indexed backlinks to an abundance of random backlinks.

Content updates have been more effective for me, particularly for pages that are already receiving impressions.Backlinks remain helpful, but I’m particular about relevancy and indexing.
 
This question has been asked at least a billion times in this month. Same answers were also given a billion times
 
Both can help, but I usually start by improving existing content. Fresh and useful content gives you a stronger base. Then build relevant, quality backlinks to support those pages. I would focus on relevance rather than chasing lots of links. A balanced approach usually works better long term.

In my experience, the best way to go about it is to update content and match the search intent. Quality backlinks are good for supporting long-term growth.
 
It's not one tactic, updating useful content, improving internal linking & building relevant quality backlinks work well together, the priority should be matching search intent & strengthening pages that already have potential
 
Recently, I’ve been putting more emphasis on content. Of course, backlinks are still an essential factor, but once I have stable traffic, I focus more on the value my blog provides to its visitors.
 
For me, content updates have been working really well especially when I improve old pages based on what’s actually ranking I still use backlinks but I focus more on relevance and quality rather than building a lot of links
 
I insert 2-3 second clips into my videos with my store's logo in the background and share them on social media. It generates incredible traffic. I recommend it to everyone.
 
I've been putting more focus on improving existing content lately. Updating pages that already get some impressions seems more useful than constantly publishing new stuff.

Backlinks still matter too, but I'd rather have a few relevant ones than build a lot of random links.

i have found more success by working to optimize existing content that is ranking rather than always creating new pages. cleaning up old content, correcting internal links nd acquiring a couple of natural links can make an impact. for new sites i would begin with usefful content nd build links.

The topic cluster strategy is more beneficial than both approaches at this tym backlinks are almost irrelevant if ur website structure is poor
 
My main strategy is combining content quality with authority building. I target specific search intent, strengthen internal links, improve pages that already have potential, and build relevant backlinks where they make sense.
 
Updating existing content that already gets impressions usually gives the fastest wins. Once the page is fully optimized to match search intent, adding a few high-relevance backlinks helps push it to the top.
