[Journey] Building an iOS & Android App Empire

i would say iaps are 98% and ads are 2%. but my apps are optimized towards iap. believe me, you will make MUCH more money with iap subscriptions than ads.

why? because you only earn from ads if the user is actually using your app and doing certain actions with the app. with subscriptions its different. the user can make a weekly/monthly subscription, close the app forever and get charged over and over again until they cancel the subscription.

but this eavily depends on your niche and app. you can not make a iap subscription for a quick hypercasual game. but you can make one for a pregnancy tracker. most people hate to watch ads. me too. i added rewarded ads videos as a ragebait attempt to push them just subscribe to the app.

about the profit and earnings:

apple takes a 15% cut from their iap purchases (small dev program)
google takes a 15% cut from their iap purchases

from middle of july until now i havent run any paid ads, but will run soon.

api costs per month around $1-2k

spending on marketing and saas tools depends. few days ago bought backlinks and featured articles. saas tools cost per month maybe 100-200 USD, not more.

oh yes, I am also subscribed to Claude Code Max 20x which is around $200, but this is the most expensive subscription per month i ever bought. but totally worth it tho.

so I would say if I earn around $50k revenue per month i keep around $40k profit

i have waited a few months to fill my companies bank account just as security, etc. so I can pay myself a decent salary for the next years even if things start to look very ugly. just for security.

June, July, August are always bad for apps, also for paid ads. From end of august and september i will start to heavily invest in paid ads (tiktok ads, meta ads, etc.). right now i am optimizing my app store listing and run some test on the paywall (different videos, images, fonts, wording, etc.) luckily revenuecat makes it really easy to a/b test different paywalls for the same app.

these days i have published a lot of apps and done a lot of work for SEO on my landing pages. keyword research, optimization for llm, blog posts, etc. to get organic traffic/downloads through the landing pages to my apps.

this was more like a general update than just answering your questions tho.
WHat would you recommends for a developer just starting out? Its hard picking a niche etc

Yes, I usually translate it into all languages, but some languages I skip entirely like Zulu, Malay, etc.

I translate the app store descriptions with Google Gemini and also give it a keyword list and tell it to integrate the keywords and also it should make sure to use these keywords in the translations and also translate some of the keywords.

Most important are the keywords in the title and subtitle/short description.

Hey
is there any reason you dont use the inbuilt translatin of google play console???
Also how do you do translation within the app (app content)

Do you run ads for people or what do you do with your empire
i am tourist guide on mount fuji

Hello Nakamura, will your new e-book still be released?
yes, coming soon

focus on quality and distribution

inbuilt translation in google play console is shit. no idea why these clowns cant even get this right. they literally could use their AI models for it, but they dont. its like google translator from 2012.

so now i provide a .csv file with the translations and use another ai model from translation.

i translate the entire app with AI (codex or claude). very easy.

Question. I built a website for a tool. Added a chrome extension for it anf currently doing mobile apps using react native. Its full blown ai code as im not a mobile developer. Will i hace issues submitting them to apple and google play stores bevause the code is ai?

No, lots of people are fully using AI to build apps, etc. and submit them to Apple etc. just make sure its fully secure, no data or api leak, etc.

Update:

Yesterday I had one of my best days ever from IAPs: $3500 made from 90 subscriptions in one day from IAPs.
Ad spent: $150 (i am running some tests)

Of course I also made money through Google Admob (havent checked yet)

Right now working on the sales thread for the ebook.

Whats the best platform that i can create simple mobile apps using just give concept these days? (AI builder, no coding, because Im not a coder) and monetize using subscription and ads

ebook is published and thread is finally live guys:

took so long to write this..literally 10+ months. but the reason is so many things happened and things in the AI space kept evolving. I just wanted to give you guys the most recent information and so on.

https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/v...-experience-required-ios-android-web.1847752/

And as an apologize because it took so fucking long here is a discount code for $50 off:

NEW50OFF

also i made a private discord server you get access to.

On the $3,500 IAP day, was that customer spending before store fees or developer proceeds, and did the 90 subscriptions include renewals? Separating renewals from new purchases would help interpret the $150 ad test without attributing the whole day's revenue to those ads.

Yup, this was $3500 before fees. The 90 subscriptions were new subscriptions. No renewals included.

Honestly, about the ad test: even me who has access to this data right now has no clue. And why? Because attribution for iOS apps is horrible. Even if the sales came from the ads, I wont see it.

I already integrated Appsflyer, Facebook SDK, etc. and all of them are showing different stuff.

Example:

On Meta Ads Manager it says I got a subscription through the ads from UK. On Appsflyer, it says this subscription was from Canada, not UK. But on my RevenueCat, the actual transactions, I neither see a subscription from Canada or UK. So its all fucked and not trustworthy at all as of now. Or maybe I have set it up incorrectly? No clue. According to Claude Code, ChatGPT, etc. I have setup everything correctly and according to the Appsflyer and Meta documentation I am pretty sure its correct.

Use Claude Code, Codex or an AI builder like loveable

@nakamura on my case which is best decision to buy regarding the course
I replied to your DM

@nakamura for someone from north africa ( currency problems ) who wanna focus first on making mobile apps for google play and make profit with in app ads , are the old book version good to buy ? im interested to get the apps+games collection to use as reskin .
Allow me to weigh in. (Not entirely related to game dev)

As a non-american, I have encountered massive losses while running ads using the dollar. Check your local conversion rate to dollars. Convertion fees just ate every gain / profits I made.

If your country allows, open a dollar account and use it.

Google AI studio?
yes, anything that works

bruh use any garbage AI to make apps , you will not get even 1 download even if you publish in 6 months or 7 days . 99% is hardwork related to marketing .
true. especially now. right now marketing is probably 70% of the game. the rest of the 30% are the app.

btw. also, the app must be onpoint. hard to market a shitty looking app thats barely working
