I have had posts with thousands of views that produced nothing, while a much smaller post generated actual conversations. I now care more about who engages than how big the impression number looks.

Exactly. I have seen this too. A post with fewer views can bring much better results when the right people engage with it. I prefer tracking comments, conversations and leads instead of only looking at the view count.

I usually check where the views are coming from, who is engaging and whether they turn into real conversations or leads. A smaller but relevant audience can be much more useful than a big view count.

It also depends on the type of content. Some types of content may not generate much discussion, but if they have good reach, they can still attract a lot of views.

i have actually found that my low view videos has generated better leads than the viral ones, so I keep an eye on my profiles and DM’s before the views.

Agreed, raw LinkedIn views don't always tell the full story. I'd also look at engagement, profile visits, clicks, and actual leads or conversions to understand whether the content is reaching the right audience.

Yep always track conversions and engagement; instead of likes, views or follows. And if you can find a niche where there are discussions going on, you've found a GOLDMINE!

Sometimes fewer views can be better when the post reaches the right people.

u got that right. views might look amazing but they really do not mean anything in regards to whether the post was successfful or not in terms of connecting with the approprriate audience.i would prefer getting 300 views from the appropriate crowd nd some real discussions over 10k views without any conversation.

Exactly. Views can look impressive, but engagement and conversations are what really matter. A smaller post with the right audience can be much more valuable.

it also comes down to the content itself some posts may not get many comments but if they reach enough people they can still pull in plenty of views

Lots of views don’t always mean a post did well. You should rather have fewer views and real conversations than thousands of views with no engagement. What matters most is reaching the right people.

You are right, Actually LinkedIn counts a "view" the second someone scrolls past your post that is why views can seem misleading and other posts with less views generates conversions.

some content just not get many comments but that doesnt mean its doing bad if it reaches enough people it can still pull in a lot of views

Exactly, reach is only one part of the picture. A smaller post that attracts the right people and starts meaningful conversations can be far more valuable than thousands of passive impressions.

yeah views were cool and all untill uhh know that nobody has even checked out ur profile or sent you a message lol, but i would take ten views with the right people any day.

A targeted conversation with the right person is infinitely more valuable than a thousand passive impressions.

That’s a good point. A smaller post can be more valuable if it reaches the right people. I’d look at profile visits, meaningful comments, and inbound messages alongside impressions to see which posts actually lead to opportunities.

I have seen posts in which I have received many views but few profile views and direct messages, so numbers do not always tell everything. I would rather receive fewer views from those who can really use my services than having only views.
do u check which topic gets DMs or just compare the view nd comment on each post?

sometimes the post that gets ignored publicly is the one that makes clicks on your profile later linkedin stats does not tell you who actually looked at urss offer and came back
