Hi everyone
Why do you all spend so much time making TikTok videos instead of spending more time making YouTube videos?

Hi everyone

tiktok versus utube is not the issue for me. short videos are easy to play around with nd just one good video can show what interessts people.if a topic garners attention, then it is time to make a utube video out of it. therefore, tiktok can even serve as a test tool rather than replace utube.

I think it depends on the type of content. TikTok is great for short, quick videos and reaching new viewers, while YouTube is better for longer and more detailed content. Both can work well for different purposes.

The reason is that it's easier to get views and build a community etc on Tiktok. People prefer short content as they're becoming lazy and their attention is lessened. YT Shorts exist but they don't bring as much engagement as Tiktok videos

it very much depends on content and it is always easy to make good and strong audience on tiktok as i have tried both i feel people on tiktok are much more engaging compared to that of youtube.

You don't have to prioritize TikTok over YouTube. This is what I do instead - When I make my videos, because of the short attention span and high volume of data per second on TikTok, I make shorter snippets of the video and send to TikTok while the long form goes to YouTube.

TikTok gives faster feedback on what hooks work, then you take the winners and build them into YouTube content that actually compounds.

People are converting from YouTube to TikTok now, so creators are starting to create content on TikTok instead of YouTube. It's like the change with the younger generation; they use TikTok more frequently.

TikTok is faster for testing ideas and getting reach. YouTube takes more work but good videos can keep bringing traffic for much longer.

TikTok videos are easy to make with ai presentation to generate traffics/views and awareness about expose niche topics, there is low engagement in YouTube channel to promote and make trend videos faster like TikTok exposure.

I give more production time to whichever platform keeps earning views after the first week, which is usually YouTube because of search, while TikTok gets quicker cuts since most videos there peak and die within a few days.

TikTok is just easier and faster to make content for imo. You can test a bunch of ideas quickly without spending hours editing one video, and new accounts can still get decent reach without already having an audience.

i do not look at it as choosing tiktok over utube. it is just more convenient to post and it takes little time to figure out what will be likked. in case ur short video works u know what to do with a utube one without wasting too much time on something unwatched.

Tiktok is basically instant velocity when it comes to getting views at the top of the funnel but youtube search traffic definitely converts and pays off way more in the long run.

I don't do this; instead, I post my YouTube videos on TikTok and Instagram both. That's how I manage all social platforms for 1 niche.
When taking videos from YouTube and posting them to TikTok and Instagram, do you keep the original long-form format or cut them into short clips under 60 seconds?

Your perspective is very insightful and practical! Using TikTok as an experiment to gauge audience reactions before investing in producing long-form videos on YouTube is indeed a very smart strategy

However, from a producer's perspective, besides the type of content, are production costs and the ability to quickly get picked up by recommendations the biggest reasons why many people prioritize making TikTok content?
