Is traffic quality more important than traffic source?

A good source with bad placements is just a fast way to burn budget; deep optimization at the zone level is mandatory now.

i noticed good targeted traffic works better even from smaller sources than cheap bulk traffic.

I agree. We seen the biggest improvements from optimizing placements and zones rather than just changing traffic sources.

I have noticed the same thing according to me 2 links from the same site can produce different results for me optimization happens on both the levels but the placement quality has the biggest impact

I agree Traffic quality usually matters more than the source itself Two campaigns on the same platform can perform completely differently depending on placements audience segments and intent Once a campaign is stable I spend more time optimizing placements and zones because that is often where the biggest improvements come from

The quality of traffic is indeed crucial, as it directly affects the quality of the conversions you receive.

Indeed, traffic quality matters a lot more than the source of the traffic. The same is true for even the most trusted source, which could be sending you substandard traffic, and the least popular source, which could be bringing in quality traffic. Here’s how to determine if your traffic is worth anything at all.

Been thinking about this:
Same source, different placements → completely different results.

Which makes me think:
traffic quality inside the source matters more than the source itself.

Do you guys optimize deeply (placements/zones), or mostly at campaign level?
source is only the beginning, IMO i have had the same traffic source go wild by zones subid-level conversion data will always show u where the money is going

One traffic source can have both good and bad placements, so check which placements are actually giving results.

i'd go one level deeper than both. a “good source” can contain terrible placements and a source with a mediocre reputation can still contain pockets of traffic that convert extremely well. that's why i'd rather judge the source/placement combination on downstream results than decide that an entire traffic source is good or bad.

Indeed, traffic quality matters more than traffic sources because quality visitors who fit your target demographic bring about good conversion and sales rates irrespective of their sources.

the source itself doesn’t tell you much if you can’t see the quality underneath it. i’d want sub id or placement-level data so you can actually cut the bad traffic. otherwise you’re basically judging the whole network from an average and hoping it holds up.

Yes, traffic quality matters more because genuine, engaged visitors deliver better results than raw traffic volume.
