Hi all,

We have a scammer who’s causing us a huge amount of stress on LinkedIn. Is there anyone who can provide any advice or insight into how to remove their profile?

Even for 30 days just to cool down and recalibrate, they’re causing us lots of issues.

Report their profile to linkedIn as a scam or fake account they can suspend or remove it.

You can also document any suspicious messages or activity and submit them to LinkedIns support having clear evidence usually speeds up the removal process.

You can’t directly “ban” someone on LinkedIn, but you can report the profile for harassment/scam and block them. If multiple people report it, LinkedIn usually takes action fast.
Blocking + repeated reports is the quickest way to get the account restricted for a while.

are u trying to report this person both from the profile as well as from their communications with u? first document all the information then block them from contacting u. if it is something very threattening or harassing in nature i would also save all that info and take action outside of LinkedIn.

in the event of persisstent harassment it would be wise to keep records before blocking them. the two should be reported separately so as to enablle linkedIn to get a better understanding of the situation. additionally, the message privacy settings need to be tightened to limit any further contact.

in case it is not simply an irritating profile but an actual targeting of individuals i would log everything before blocking such users. logging includes dates, messages, fake accusattions, screen shots nd everything else. after that, report the user for the specific actions not because they are scammers.

If he is really scamming or abusing your company, collect all proof first. Report the profile from different affected accounts and contact LinkedIn support with the evidence. Dont try to mass report without reason, it can backfire.

blocking should at least stop the direct interaction from that profile for removal linkedin would need to review the reported account and behavior.

You need to have your entire team mass-report the profile for "Fraud or Scam" and block them immediately; the rest, LinkedIn will take care of it.
