Hey everyone,
I’m currently setting up dedicated promotional accounts from the UK to target the US market on TikTok and Instagram Reels. I'm trying to decide between three specific device/connection configurations and would love feedback or test results from anyone running similar operations.
Here are the 3 exact scenarios I am evaluating:
  • Scenario 1: UK SIM Card + Mobile Data Only (No Wi-Fi at all)Using a dedicated phone with a UK SIM card on cellular data, completely avoiding Wi-Fi to eliminate home IP leak risks.
  • Scenario 2: UK SIM Card + US Proxy + Mobile Data Running a US proxy (via Shadowrocket) on cellular data while keeping the UK SIM active in the tray
  1. SIM vs. Proxy Hierarchy: Can a high-quality US Mobile or Residential Proxy successfully override the physical SIM card's Mobile Country Code (MCC), or will TikTok/IG always lock content distribution to the UK/EU if a UK SIM is present?
  2. Location Mismatch Flags: Does pairing an active UK SIM with a US Proxy IP trigger security flags, 0-view glitches, or shadowbans due to contradicting hardware/network signals?
  3. Real-World Results: Has anyone achieved 60%+ US audience reach while keeping a UK SIM inside the device, or is removing the SIM completely non-negotiable?

Appreciate any insights, test logs, or experiences from anyone operating UK-to-US promo setups!

Hi, Scenario 2 is way cleaner, suggest check Voidmob for this they might have UK eSIM with US IP and they have dedicated mobile proxies for US + US phone numbers for US accounts. Since you focus on social media, should be great fit for you to get the same setup.

Regarding rest questions, don't use residential proxy you need mobile for social media unless you want to risk being detected and shadow banned. You need clean mobile proxy, preferably dedicated if you have budget. Dedicated mobile proxy will give you 0 leaks as well, so you won't need eSIM as well giving nearly 100% US reach.

Shadowrocket is great and reliable choice as well. Running pretty similar setup for US social media accounts, don't waste your time on poor setups.

Thanks, that helps. I have one more question because account isolation is actually my biggest concern.
I already have an established 25k-follower account in a different niche that's completely white hat and has always been used normally on my UK home Wi-Fi. I really don't want anything I do with the new accounts to put that account at risk.
For the new accounts I'm planning to use a separate dedicated phone + dedicated US mobile proxy through Shadowrocket.
Have you ever tested this while the dedicated phone is connected to the SAME home Wi-Fi as your normal/established accounts?
For example:
Main phone => UK home Wi-Fi => established account
Dedicated phone => same UK home Wi-Fi => Shadowrocket => dedicated US mobile proxy => new accounts
Would you consider those sufficiently isolated, or would you keep the dedicated phone completely off the home Wi-Fi and use mobile data/a separate connection as well?
I'm mainly concerned about whether the new accounts could somehow be linked back to my established account and put it at risk.
Would be interested to hear how you isolate your established accounts from your higher-risk/testing accounts.

"Dedicated phone => same UK home Wi-Fi => Shadowrocket => dedicated US mobile proxy => new accounts"

This one is fine, just download and setup Instagram or any other app with proxy on it already.

Scenario 2: UK SIM Card + US Proxy + Mobile Data Running a US proxy (via Shadowrocket) on cellular data while keeping the UK SIM active in the tray
This is pointless, US Proxy will trump the the mobile data so it will give you US traffic BUT having an UK Sim card will do more harm than good so I suggest just removing uk sim card if you go with Scenario 2. And if you do that, just put the proxy on top of wi-fi since keeping a proxy, mobile data just plays role of sustaining the connection, and unless your wi-fi speed is less than mobile data, I would go with proxy us + mobile data + no uk sim (you can though go and buy an US sim card on ebay, empty to match the configuration)

SIM vs. Proxy Hierarchy: Can a high-quality US Mobile or Residential Proxy successfully override the physical SIM card's Mobile Country Code (MCC), or will TikTok/IG always lock content distribution to the UK/EU if a UK SIM is present?
No, never! Unless you test a 3rd world country SIM vs US/UK/AU etc tier 1 country - MOBILE PROXY not residential
Location Mismatch Flags: Does pairing an active UK SIM with a US Proxy IP trigger security flags, 0-view glitches, or shadowbans due to contradicting hardware/network signals?
It might work on Instagram but Tiktok will smell it miles away and shadowban your account

Real-World Results: Has anyone achieved 60%+ US audience reach while keeping a UK SIM inside the device, or is removing the SIM completely non-negotiable?
Remove the SIM, lol

What was 3rd Scenario?

Thanks, that's really helpful.
Scenario 3 was basically:
Dedicated phone => NO SIM => UK home Wi-Fi => Shadowrocket => dedicated US mobile proxy => TikTok/Instagram
So based on what you're saying, it sounds like Scenario 3 would actually be your preferred setup?
My main account would stay completely separate on another phone using the same UK Wi-Fi normally, while the dedicated phone would have no UK SIM and all its traffic would go through the US mobile proxy.
Also interested in what you mentioned about putting an empty US SIM in the dedicated phone. Have you actually tested:
No SIM + US mobile proxy
vs.
US SIM (no service/data) + US mobile proxy
and noticed any difference in TikTok US audience distribution?
And for your own US TikTok accounts, do you normally keep one dedicated/sticky US mobile IP per account/device, or do you rotate the mobile IP periodically?

What was 3rd Scenario?
Also
If I go with Dedicated phone => NO SIM => UK home Wi-Fi => Shadowrocket => dedicated US mobile proxy
What would you recommend for phone verification if TikTok/Instagram asks for a number?
Would it be fine to have a separate UK SIM/phone number that is NOT installed in the dedicated phone and only use it to receive the SMS verification code?
So basically the dedicated phone would remain SIM-free permanently, but I'd have another SIM/number available separately just for verification/recovery.
Or for US accounts would you recommend getting a real US number instead?
I'm mainly wondering whether the country of the verification number matters if the SIM itself is never installed in the dedicated phone.

Both works on Instagram, only the 2nd works on TikTok but the sim needs to have signal or something

I don't do TikTok
Thanks a lot for the help, really appreciate it. I'm completely new to this stuff so I'm still trying to get my head around how everything works. I tried asking AI about it a bit as well, but didn't get much useful information compared to hearing from people who have actually done it.
When you say the US SIM needs to have signal for TikTok, do you mean an active US SIM with roaming that can get signal here in the UK?
Also, have you tested that TikTok setup yourself, or is that just what you've heard? Just want to make sure before I buy a US SIM.
And since you mentioned that No SIM + US mobile proxy works for Instagram, what do you normally do if Instagram asks for phone verification? Can I just use a separate UK number/SIM to receive the verification code while keeping that SIM out of the dedicated phone, or would you recommend using a US number for verification as well?

not necessarily roaming, but an active sim with signal, otherwise how the app would know if the sim is not active? so sim with signal

lso, have you tested that TikTok setup yourself, or is that just what you've heard?
Tested it without SIM and all my tests failed, so I've asked around and the norm is that you need to have SIM, but as I said, I don't / didn't do TikTok so you figure that out for yourself

Thanks alot for help buddy :)

the SIM card MCC signal is a fingerprinting layer that proxies alone don't override on TikTok specifically the platform reads both signals and a mismatch between SIM country and proxy IP is a known flag.

keeping a UK SIM active and using a US proxy creates mixed signals that can trap your content in local views.

removing the SIM and running on a clean US proxy or local data plan is a safer option for targeting the US market.
